Did the Romney campaign read Rules for Radicals and apply them to the RNC Convention? Lost in the discussion of the Clint Eastwood evisceration of the Empty Chair character of Barack Obama was maybe the most obvious explanation for why the Romney campaign allowed this presentation:
RULE 5: Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. There is no defense. Its irrational. Its infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
Have the conservatives finally found the backbone to learn something from their liberal brethren?
Romney, as a long-time financier and business consultant, understands the importance of knowing as much about the situation and the people you are negotiating against as anyone. I would not put it past him to have realized that in order to beat a community organizer you need to think like one. Hence the possibility of learning Alinsky from end to end.
Maybe I am giving him too much credit but the possibility does exist. The ridicule is not just the Eastwood skit but also the Ryan speech section on the kid moving into his childhood bedroom and the follow up commercial ad of the student talking on the phone from the bedroom.
If so, this campaign will be a lot of fun and will likely succeed beyond our hopes as not only Obama, but the MSM and progressivism getting taken out simultaneously. I hope is plays out the way it looks to me!
Your comment reminds me of when my brother was about 5 and the kid across the street told him, "Scotty, I'm going to hit you, but don't you hit me back". My brother acted in a way you condemn in your post - when the kid hit him, he hit him back, only harder. Can't condemn the "sheeple" if you're out in the field eating grass along side of them...
There’s a reason why liberals are winning in several areas of life. Conservatives still expect them to play nice. When liberals don’t, instead of learning how to play rough as well, they come home crying. If conservatives could not stand against Romney’s attacks, how on earth they can stand against the liberals with all of their friends in the media?
Eastwood’s skit stung.
Recall that Obama tweeted a response that same evening.
McCain took the high road.
We know how that turned out.

Obama if from Chicago. We know how Chicago politics are.
If Team Romney brings boxing gloves to a gunfight, they will lose. Look at how the Left/Libs/MSM are already trying to label everything coming from Team Romney as racism or racist. The race card worked against both Clinton and McCain, resulting in both of them cowering against the onslaught. The Left/Libs/MSM just hope they can get the label to stick on something Romney or Ryan say/do.
Hey cc! There’s a difference, you might be just missing it this morning.
Alinsky’s ridicule is based on lies.
...and repeating them for mind-numbed robots.
OUR ridicule is based on the TRUTH.
Makes all the difference in the world.

YEARS of great FR humor.
I know you get this.
We should be in non-stop ridicule mode.
After all, there’s no shortage of material now, is there?
Your low road seems to be leading to an ever expanding enemies list. Enjoy your trip.
The ridicule is the least of the problems with it.
Nah, you're just a whiner. All butthurt 'cause you didn't get your way in the primaries and simply can't grow up and get over it. It's one thing to decide you can't vote for the nominee (some percentage of people make that decision every election cycle), quite another to wail, moan and generally make yourself a proverbial debbie downer on every thread you show up on.
The OP made a good point. The Republicans are using some of the Democrats own tactics against them. This is a smart strategy and I do believe it might be working. The convention was quite good and, in my opinion, boosted Romney/Ryan's chances of winning.
if you’ve read any of my posts over the years you’d know that I’m an advocate of firing back when fired upon.
The problem with embracing alinskys tactics is that they become the thing you use not just against the bad guys, they also end up being used against the good guys. Hell is filled with those who figured they’d embrace a little evil for the best of reasons. And then it became their master.
Think I’m being overly dramatic? Pick up a copy of rules for radicals and read who it is dedicated to.
Again. I saw your name and responded without reading. Tell it to someone who has the tiniest crumb of respect for you.
Sure you didn't, whiner.
Tell it to someone who has the tiniest crumb of respect for you.
Eh, I'll tell it to everyone on the next thread I see you throwing a temper tantrum on.
Geeze man - you lost in the primaries, get over it. At least stop the crying in every thread.
Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words. Wow.
And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Or the horse.
