Romney Camp Removing Rules Committee Members
FreedomWorks.org ^ | August 28, 2012 | Michael Duncan

Posted on 08/28/2012 10:24:54 AM PDT by CedarDave

I just got off the phone with a concerned Florida activist, Laura Noble, who informed me that both of Florida's Rules Committee members, Peter Feaman and Kathleen King, have been removed from the Rules committee and replaced with Romney-appointed delegates.

Clearly anticipating a grassroots backlash against the "compromise" on Rule 15 and the changes on Rule 12 has caused the Romney camp to preemptively replace delegates to ensure they have support on the Rules Committee.

It's enough to make your blood boil. Please call your state's Rules Committee delegates here and ask that they oppose the "compromise" on Rule 15, oppose the changes to Rule 12, and support the full Minority Reports on the Rules.

UPDATE: Delegations we should be focusing on include the following states: North Carolina, Oregon, Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Hearing, seeing and reading this from NO ONE, but you, Mr. Longtermmemory.

So, what’s your gig that in your superior knowledge, all discussion ends in your say so?

Methinks you are too full of yourself to be reliable.

Gotta go and perform $ paying work. Sent my opposition earlier and will check in later. Others can update the thread as needed.

and next time the rules are changed by the victor.

take over the locals
take over the primaries

The leg work is done LONG before the convention.

You don’t go to the convention expecting to “take over” when you have lost the vote count.

Teaparty understands the real race is congress.

Because they have been so successful at stopping presidential decrees to date.

You should care because the aristocrats and oligarchs are choosing our leaders for us. They are setting up the machinery to ensure that only someone they choose will become the republican nominee ever again. How do you think we get such men as Gerald Ford, Robert Dole, George Bush and his son, and now Mitt Romney. They worked hand in hand to destroy Goldwater, and since Reagan’s two landslides, they’ve been working to ensure that a conservative never again gets the nomination because they cannot be controlled. They’ll pick someone and that’ll be it because where are we going to go, they’ll say.

That all sounds fine, but exactly how is that being done? What rules are being changed to make that more likely? I mean, I'm sitting here as a guy who voted for Newt in the primary. He lost, okay. Now, everyone without an axe to grind acknowledges that Romney is going to be the nominee, and he certainly did get the most votes in the primary.

So what specifically is happening that is causing the problem? I'm reading that so and so got booted off some committee. Well, what practical difference is going to result as a consequence of that? There is simply not enough detail reported on this stuff for me to figure out why I should care. Maybe I disagree with these people who are getting the boot, because nobody is saying what those people are advocating that is getting them the boot.

Honestly, this just sounds like fighting between party officials. Maybe it's more, but a lot more context would be helpful.

In essence, it is this: in 2016 Romney would be able to choose what delegates are seated at the convention. The states would no longer do that. If Romney doesn’t like the delegates the people of a state choose i.e. they choose to vote for someone other than Romney, then he can replace them with those that are for Romney.

Now what that boils down to is, no matter what the people say, no matter who they vote for, the fix will be in. We will be turning into an aristocratic and not a democratic republic. All nominees will chosen, not by the people, but by a select group of elite which will tow the line or be destroyed. And the people...well they can vote for our guy or vote for the other guy, who has also been chosen by similar elites.

What in the world is the matter with Romney? Is this a plot to have Obama win and take the country Communist? Conservatives were holding their noses, willing to vote for the originator of ObamaCare, and now they want to pull a stunt like this. Should they succeed, they will go down in flames in Nov.

The Conservative Party of rhe Republic may be born today.

That is counting a lot of chickens before they hatch. We aren’t going to win. Stick a fork in it. Obastard is staying.

A house divided against itself can not stand.

Can it?

I don’t think so.

I think the whole mess of them, Rats and Pubbies, are in it for what is in it for them. The national interest is long dead and of no concern to them.

Reagan was the last adult in the nation.

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”

I am sure Sarah doesn't want to the GOP go the way of the Whigs

BUT

if they choose to do so, like the trick they are trying to pull here.

It WILL split the GOP into a Conservative third party.

But won't that mean Democrat victories?!

I say look around you, the way we are doing things now sure as hell isn't working!

Go Sarah!

I knew Willard couldn't pull the wool over her eyes (unlike some others I could name)

If Mittens isn't put back in his place, then we are witnessing history here people, the End of the Republican Party.

Brace yourselves.

I knew this would happen if Romney got the GOP nod.

So ultimately we really do not have free elections. This dog and pony show is old and completely predictable. It’s time to disenfrancise the death loving elite. They are ultimately the minority on the right.
