40 Points That Prove That Barack Obama And Mitt Romney Are Essentially The Same Candidate
activistpost.com ^ | August 16, 2012 | Michael Snyder

What a depressing choice the American people are being presented with this year. We are at a point in our history where we desperately need a change of direction in the White House, and we are guaranteed that we are not going to get it. The Democrats are running the worst president in American history, and the Republicans are running a guy who is almost a carbon copy of him.

The fact that about half the country is still supporting Barack Obama shows how incredibly stupid and corrupt the American people have become. No American should have ever cast a single vote for Barack Obama for any political office under any circumstances.

Obama should never have even been the assistant superintendent in charge of janitorial supplies, much less the president of the United States.

The truth is that Barack Obama has done such a horrible job that he should immediately resign along with his entire cabinet. But instead of giving us a clear choice, the Republicans nominated the Republican that was running that was most similar to Barack Obama. In fact, I don't think we have ever had two candidates for president that are so similar. Yes, there are a few minor differences between them, but the truth is that we are heading into Obama's second term no matter which one of them gets elected. The mainstream media makes it sound like Obama and Romney are bitter ideological rivals but that is a giant lie. Yeah, they are slinging lots of mud at each other, but they both play for the same team and the losers are going to be the American people.

Republicans are being told that they have "no choice" but to vote for Romney because otherwise they will get another four years of Obama.

This "lesser of two evils" theme comes out every four years. We are told that we "must" vote for a horrible candidate because the other guy is even worse.

Well, millions of Americans are getting sick of this routine. Perhaps that is why it is being projected that as many as 90 million Americans of voting age will not vote this year.

Yes, Barack Obama has been so horrible as president that it is hard to put it into words.

But Mitt Romney would be just like Barack Obama.

Those that are dreaming of a major change in direction if Romney is elected are going to be bitterly, bitterly disappointed.

The following are 40 ways that Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are essentially the same candidate....

1. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported TARP.

2. Mitt Romney supported Barack Obama's "economic stimulus" packages.

3. Mitt Romney says that Barack Obama's bailout of the auto industry was actually his idea.

4. Neither candidate supports immediately balancing the federal budget.

5. They both believe in big government and they both have a track record of being big spenders while in office.

6. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both fully support the Federal Reserve.

7. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are both on record as saying that the president should not question the "independence" of the Federal Reserve.

8. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both said that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke did a good job during the last financial crisis.

9. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both felt that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke deserved to be renominated to a second term.

10. Both candidates oppose a full audit of the Federal Reserve.

11. Both candidates are on record as saying that U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has done a good job.

12. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both been big promoters of universal health care.

13. Mitt Romney was the one who developed the plan that Obamacare was later based upon.

14. Wall Street absolutely showers both candidates with campaign contributions.

15. Neither candidate wants to eliminate the income tax or the IRS.

16. Both candidates want to keep personal income tax rates at the exact same levels for the vast majority of Americans.

17. Both candidates are "open" to the idea of imposing a Value Added Tax on the American people.

18. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the TSA is doing a great job.

19. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the NDAA.

20. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the renewal of the USA PATRIOT Act.

21. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the federal government should be able to indefinitely detain American citizens that are considered to be terrorists.

22. Both candidates believe that American citizens suspected of being terrorists can be killed by the president without a trial.

23. Barack Obama has not closed Guantanamo Bay like he promised to do, and Mitt Romney actually wants to double the number of prisoners held there.

24. Both candidates support the practice of "extraordinary rendition".

25. They both support the job-killing "free trade" agenda of the global elite.

26. They both accuse each other of shipping jobs out of the country and both of them are right.

27. Both candidates are extremely soft on illegal immigration.

28. Neither candidate has any military experience. This is the first time that this has happened in a U.S. election since 1944.

29. Both candidates earned a degree from Harvard University.

30. They both believe in the theory of man-made global warming.

31. Mitt Romney has said that he will support a "cap and trade" carbon tax scheme (like the one Barack Obama wants) as long as the entire globe goes along with it.

32. Both candidates have a very long record of supporting strict gun control measures.

33. Both candidates have been pro-abortion most of their careers. Mitt Romney's "conversion" to the pro-life cause has been questioned by many. In fact, Mitt Romney has made millions on Bain Capital's investment in a company called "Stericycle" that incinerates aborted babies collected from family planning clinics.

34. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the Boy Scout ban on openly gay troop leaders is wrong.

35. They both believe that a "two state solution" will bring lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israel.

36. Both candidates have a history of nominating extremely liberal judges.

37. Like Barack Obama, Mitt Romney also plans to add "signing statements" to bills when he signs them into law.

38. They both have a horrible record when it comes to job creation.

39. Both candidates believe that the president has the power to take the country to war without getting the approval of the U.S. Congress.

40. Both candidates plan to continue running up more government debt even though the U.S. government is already 16 trillion dollars in debt.

What a bunch of crap. Do you expect Romney to check out the bona fides of the staff of a landscaper to see if they are here legally? How exactly was he supposed to do that? Does MA require the use of e-verify for all businesses? This is all trumped up nonsense that Romney's opponents tried to use against him.

On what basis could Romney have fired the illegals? If they were known to be illegal publicly, where was ICE? Romney would have had to fire the naturalized American contractor, but he would have to prove that he was using illegal workers. I can't believe that the contractor was using the same workers for 11 years. There is tremendous turnover in such operations.

I find it rich that Giuliani is criticizing Romney when Rudy is a declared supporter of amnesty. NYC is a virtual sanctuary city. And using the Boston Globe as a source is ridiculous. We have 12 to 20 million illegals in this country. The USG estimates that 8 million illegals are in the workforce. Yet, you expect Romney to check the papers of the people working for the landscaper. Again, how do you propose he do that.

Lamar Smith and Steve King can both be relied upon to stand up for Americans and fight against allowing illegal aliens to stay..

Ive been in panel meetings in Washington and heard them personally...

but they cant do it alone...

Its unfortunate that the leadership in the house wont back their efforts...

The only acceptable action is deportation...

Id be more concerned about the anarchy from the other 270 MILLION people than what 30 MILLION illegal aliens might do...

Immigration, legal and illegal, is destroying this country. We are bringing in too many people and not the kind of people with the skills we need to be competitive in the global economy. We may have already passed the tipping point.

The U.S. brings in about 1.2 million legal immigrants annually—more than the rest of the world combined. The decade ending in 2010 saw the highest level of immigration in our history with 13.9 million legal immigrants entering our country despite the fact that there was a net loss of jobs during that same period.

Our kinship system of immigration does not bring in the skills and talents we need to be competitive in the global economy. 25% of the adult legal immigrants who enter annually are high school dropouts. Only 25% have college degrees. Importing hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts annually is a net loss to the economy, i.e., taxes received versus government services provided.

The federal government issues work permits to 125,000 LEGAL FOREIGN WORKERS A MONTH now even though 23 million Americans are looking for fulltime employment. This includes new permanent residents (Green Cards) and long-term temporary work visas and others who are authorized to take a job. Also, Obama’s backdoor “Dream” amnesty will add 1 million legal workers to the workforce. The latest data show 22.1 million immigrants holding jobs in the U.S. with an estimated 8 million being illegal aliens. By increasing the supply of labor between 1980 and 2000, immigration reduced the average annual earnings of native-born men significantly. The reduction in earnings occurs regardless of whether the immigrants are legal or illegal, permanent or temporary. It is the presence of additional workers that reduces wages, not their legal status.

52 percent of households headed by a legal immigrant with children (under18) used at least one welfare program, compared to 39 percent for native households with children. The poverty rate for immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) is 17 percent, nearly 50 percent higher than the rate for natives and their children. While government works to reduce the number of poor persons, massive low-skill immigration pushes the poverty numbers up. Milton Friedman said, “You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state.” We have both.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by an additional 130 million to 440 million—three-quarters of the projected increase will be the result of immigration.

87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the illegal aliens are minorities. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under in the U.S. will be classified as minorities and by 2042, half of the residents of this country will be minorities. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.

There is no avoiding the dramatic numerical and political implications of continuing the current legal immigration levels of more than one million per year. For the past 30 years, immigrants have voted at least two – to – one for the Democrats. Given the low income and low education profile of legal immigrants, this ratio is not likely to improve. To the contrary, it is likely to become worse. The inevitable result will be a permanent Democrat voting majority, first at the national level and soon thereafter at the state level. The Democrat leadership is fully aware of this and that is why we see the President illegally using executive orders to achieve what he has been unable to achieve through Congress. California is the canary in the coal mine when it comes to assessing the electoral impact of mass immigration.

It was put in place for the state police. The 287 g program does not verify employment. It allows law enforcement to have access to ICE databases to check the immigration status of people they arrest. ICE trains state and local law enforcement on immigration matters.

As soon as Romney left office, the program was eliminated by his successor. No surprise there.

Stating facts about someone is not smearing them:

Reagan’s Darkest Hour: “Therapeutic” abortion in California
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/223437/reagans-darkest-hour/paul-kengor

Republicans Introduced Reagan’s Amnesty Act for 3 Million ‘Illegals’ Six Months Before 1986 Midterm Elections
http://www.pensitoreview.com/2012/06/19/reagan-introduced-amnesty-act-for-3-million-illegals-six-months-before-1986-midterm-elections/

I have no idea what you are talking about as far as Gov. Romney is concerned, but I lived in California when Ronald Reagan was governor there and worked for him when he was president. And how am I “tearing down” Christianity by posting those two links? Are those people liars? Did they halucinate? Tell Mr. Obama and his team that you tried your darndest to get the FReepers to vote third party, stay home or just vote down-ticket, but only your fellow disruptors are buying it. Those here with their eyes open know that, liberal as he might be, Mitt Romney is no Barack Hussein Obama, and there is a difference.

If you are here legally, like my wife, no one can force you to leave. But this isn't about you or my wife. It is about our immigration policies that are destroying this country.

The 1965 Immigration Act: Anatomy of a Disaster

I gather you are fine with current level of legal immigration and the composition of those who are coming. I am not. We don't need to import hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts each year.

You don't seem to understand how the 287 g program functions. There are constitutional limits to what the police can do under the program, which again, is not used to verify legal status for employment purposes. I can't make it any clearer than that.

“Supreme Judicial Court held today that “barring an individual from the protections, benefits, and
obligations of civil marriage solely because that person would marry a person of the same sex violates the
Massachusetts Constitution.” The court stayed the entry of judgment for 180 days “to permit the Legislature to take such action as it may deem appropriate in light of this opinion.” unofficial synopsis at www.findlaw.com

The MA Supreme Judicial Court did, in fact, order or - as they put it - “permit[ed]” the state’s legislature to do whatever it took to make gay marriage legal in the Commonwealth. It was not the legislature and it was not the executive. It was the judicial.

The case was HILLARY GOODRIDGE & others vs. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & another. 440 Mass. 309; March 4, 2003 - November 18, 2003; Suffolk County.

The legislature rewrote the law; the governor enforced it.

You have adopted the exact persona, the anti-Reagan posting, and the anti-Christian, proMormonism style of the worst FR romneybots of the last six years.

It is as though you joined a cult.

Now we have to start countering your Reagan attacks like we have for 6 years as you guys try to defend Mitt’s radical pro-abortion activism of decades by trying to give the impression that Reagan was pro-abortion.

You already have us fighting you as you promote Mormonism elsewhere, in your devotion to Mitt Romney.

They weren’t staff, they were exotic looking, non-English speaking Guatemalans who spent days at Romney’s place every week.

Their boss was a naturalized Colombian himself that Mitt had met personally, and then hired for his yard work.

I imagine that his security during the period that he was Governor, may have been interested in who all these Illegal looking guys were that came to the house a couple of times a week and interacted with the family, as the illegals said, the Romneys would speak a little Spanish to them.

If you can decide to ignore 2 national scandals of Mitt being discovered using the same contractor and his batch of illegal Guatemalans for 11 years, then you can pretend anything.

By the way, the lying involved in all this should disturb you a little, Mitt swore up and down that he had fired them back in 2006, if the Newspaper had not checked again, they would still be there.

Judging by your anger and hostility towards me, for knowing about Mitt’s 11 year relationship with illegals, the newspaper which exposed the illegals working for him, Giuliani for mentioning the illegals in public, I take it that you are pro-illegal.

No, you just need to lay off Reagan and Christianity while you promote Romney.

The most radical, hard core lefty ever nominated by the GOP.

Trying to convince people that Reagan was ever pro-choice, has cost many a troll here.

Reagan never converted, or needed to convert, Reagan was never pro-abortion.

Mitt Romney was 20 years old in 1967, he says that he had already been pro-abortion for 4 years, in 1973 Roe v Wade happened, Romney was pro-abortion, 1980, the abortion wars really kicked in, America elected social conservative hero, Ronald Reagan, Romney was still pro-abortion, 1984, Romney still pro-abortion, 1988, 1992,1994,1996,2000,2004, Romney is still pro-abortion.

During those years, Romney financially supported, campaigned for, and fund raised for pro-abortion democrats over republicans.

How do you equate this with a pro-life social conservative’s rookie mistake in 1967, when we had never even heard of “pro-life”, and Pro-choice” ?

A year ago, somebody here posted a quiz. You answered the questions and it recommended your best presidential candidate among Romney, Obama, Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, Hunter, Perry, and Gingrich.

I answered the Quiz. Obama rated higher on my quiz than Romney. Romney was dead last in meeting my desires, while Obama was only 2nd to last.
