On August 2nd, 5 GOP candidates seeking re-election to the Tennessee State legislature discovered just how dangerous it can be to disdain the wishes of those conservatives who helped put them in office.
In 2010, members of various Tea Party groups in Tennessee donated the necessary time and money to put Republicans in charge of both the legislature and the governors mansion for the first time in 150 years.
But after 2 years, not one of the top 10, Tea Party priorities placed before the Republicancontrolled legislature had been implemented. Those priorities were based upon re-asserting state sovereignty over unconstitutional Federal abuses, writes Tea Party steering committee member Van Irion.
Yet rather than assist the Tea Party groups which...

The moral of the story. Don’t ignore your voters who put you there. Namely the TEA PARTY!!!!!!
Now that’s what I like to see. Holding elected folks accountable after they are elected is just as important as finding them and getting them elected in the first place.
The problem is they may have been good guys to begin with but after so many years on pedestals they become corrupt in several ways.
It's that old-fashioned "We, the people" notion.
You raise an interesting point. Is everyone that is elected able to be corrupted? I dont know yet. The one I work with are not but I know theyre not the normal. I dont think anything would turn them, but others I see are weak. It also makes a point for limitation of time of public service. Of course that limits how far up the chain they can get before stopping. I currently believe that the vetting is one of, if not the most important processes that we all need to get involved in then getting the candidates elected and holding them accountable.
A quick grammar note for author Doug Book:
When writing the numbers zero through ten, use the words (one, two, three, etc.), not the number.
Uber RINO Lindsey Ping
"Republican by day, Democrat by night."
Want on or off this ping list?
Just FReepmail me.
Same thing happened here in KS. The newspaper editors and poly-sci profs are all upset, which is a source of great joy to me.
You also have to be able to count up to a majority or super-majority number in both houses and avoid a Governor's veto.
I believe you didn't read the story. The people in Tennesee threw the democrats out and installed a Republican House, Senate and Governor and nothing changed. The rino's fought against what the people wanted. The people threw the rino's out.

As a result, not only did Maggart lose to Tea Party endorsed candidate, retired Lt. Col Courtney Rogers, she lost BIG!
That's how it's done. In the primaries, select big RINOs, and get rid of them. Make the cost of spitting in the face of conservatives very high. Inch by inch, recover the party.
I see from your flagpage
That you are new here.

I’ve been lurking for quite a while.
I feel like the people here are my kind of people.
They love God, Family, Country.
Meet me at lostinzombieland.com
and you’ll see why FR makes a lot of sense to me.
It was good to see Dale Ford bite the dust. The only reason he seemed to want to go to Nashville was to draw a stipend and play golf.
Long live the Tea Party!
You are more than welcome! My feeble attempt at poetry to you was to the tune, (at least in my mind), of the Western song “The Streets of Laredo.” [Humor me - - - ].
This is a tough time at FR. Lots of hot-button, knee-jerk, venting going on, soooooooooooooo, just lean back, chuckle, and keep in mind that EVERYBODY is doing the best that they can.
Glad to read that you have been lurking for awhile, as it helps to develop the thick skin necessary to chuckle at those who have still not passed Manners 101.
Jim Robinson makes it really simple, just follow his rules, donate when you can and ENJOY FR!
