Louisiana --(Ammoland.com)- When it comes to guns, there is plenty of spin in Bill OReillys No Spin Zone. The zone has been infected with a bad case of yellow journalism.
Mr. OReilly is either woefully ignorant of the most basic of firearm laws, nomenclature, rules and requirements, or he has a clear anti-gun agenda and is a willing puppet for those who want to end the Second Amendment.
Mr. OReilly recently stated on his TV program, The OReilly Factor, that anyone in America can go out and buy a machine gun or bazooka without any reporting requirements at all.
Are you kidding me?
Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. While owning machine guns is legal, it has been intensely restricted since 1934. There is a labyrinth of federal, state and local requirements one must comply with in order to own a fully automatic weapon, short-barreled rifle or sound suppressor.
I sent Bill a note and challenged him that I would donate $10,000 to the charity of his choice if anyone on his staff can go out and legally buy a machine gun or bazooka in the next 30 days without the federal government knowing about it. No word back yet from the No Spin Zone guy.
There are roughly 250,000 legally owned machine guns in America half are owned by private citizens and the other half are owned by police departments. Since 1934, there have only been two homicides committed with legally owned machine guns. Leave it to the MotorCity Madman to give you the real no-spin truth regarding firepower in America.
Mr. No Spin Zone must surely be spinning now that the facts have revealed his ignorance or his intentional anti-gun spin. It makes a guy wonder what other information he has been spinning instead of telling his viewers the bold, honest truth.
Similar to the slew of left-wing anti-gun ideologues, Mr. OReilly is guilty as sin as it pertains to telling his viewers the truth about guns.
The truth it seems, however interesting, is apparently irrelevant to the media, including Mr. OReilly.
Ive watched countless media windbags over the last 40 years either play fast and loose with the facts or overtly lie about guns to push an anti-gun agenda. Thats why all of the gun owners I know dont trust the media when it comes to accurate information about guns.
The real truth about guns and crimes is simple to learn, which is why Mr. OReillys statements have more in common with his previous entertainment television gig Inside Edition than his vaunted The OReilly Factor on Fox.
Because of his woefully ignorant statements or his anti-gun beliefs, Ill be much more suspicious of anything Mr. OReilly says.
Americans are owed the truth by our media. They are supposed to be the fourth arm of society, the watchdogs of our government. When we cant trust the media (and there are ample reasons to not trust them), then it is even more incumbent upon us to dig deep and learn the truth about any number of issues.
Lets see just how big a man Mr. OReilly is and whether he tells his viewers that he and his crack staff of researchers got it all wrong, as wrong as wrong can be. Lets see how he tries to spin himself and his staff out of this balderdash.
Mr. OReilly has been caught red-handed in a web of ignorance or falsehood. Until he comes clean, I suggest watching his program with a jaundiced eye. Im sure even Mr. OReilly knows that once his credibility with his audience is gone, the gig is up.

Help me out here...
Which one is BOR?
Come on, making a bet with Ted Baxter on facts is an easy win. The bloviator will refuse the bet and claim a win
Loose lips sink ships. (get it?)
0Reilly is a dunce.
A dunce with not one, but two Harvard degrees. A dunce none the less
That’s not the bet
This O’Reilly tool fool makes me UNproud to have to bear an O’C in my surname.
I really should be kicking myself in the arse because, back around the ‘turn of the century’ (haven’t you always wanted to be able to say that?) I petitioned my local cable Company RCN (I believe - Erols) in Northern VA to pick up the Fox News Channel. When it finally came around, when going to a public place and those had had cable inevitably would have CNN on - but that was like going to a lunch counter and saying I will have a Coke - the brainwashing etc - I would loudly proclaim “What is that garbage doing on, try Fox” and I was able to get a few converts...Usually the bartender(ess) would just shrug and say ‘Who Cares’?
Getting back to the ‘Turn of the Century’ when Rush was the ‘firebrand’ Rush that we grew up with, there was Paul Weyrich - who was definitely ahead of his time - Armstrong Williams who really got in the Libs heads, he wasn’t only Black, he was a Strom Thurmond protege`, AND he fought back. Tom Fitton who heads Judicial Watch always came across to me as kind of wishy washy but.....
Anyway IMNSHO, Fox News started its downhill slide with the hiring of Jerry Rivers (Geraldo Rivera for you folk in Rio Linda)even though O’Reilly and Hannity (Colmes) were stalwarts, I was never too enthralled with either of the 3 - at least Colmes was completely honest - if not a complete idiot), and I guess even ‘plankowners’ of Fox Prime Time.
Well, go into a public area today and the only plus for Fox News being on are it is NOT CNN or even worse MSNBC (that is the only time I have EVER watched MSNBC is when it was on and on one occasion after requesting a channel change, was told EVERYBODY in the place watched MSNBC, I decided it was not a place I wanted to be hanging out. - Of course this was after I quit drinking, while drinking I would gladly have taken the challenge etc...)
Easier than buying one would be to convert a legal semi-auto to a “machine gun.”
Not so sure about bazookas.
Not as easy as you might think. Since about 1980 semi-autos have been designed to make it difficult to convert them.
“Mr. OReilly is either woefully ignorant of the most basic of firearm laws, nomenclature, rules and requirements, or he has a clear anti-gun agenda...”
My money is on both.
How hard would it be and how much time would it take for O’Reilly to get a federal license?
If he does that, doesn’t that make him eligible to buy a machine gun legally?

poor chimp

Re: OReilly = OBlowhard
BOR’s big mouth lost me when after the Port A Prince earthquake he was interviewing tearful parents who lost their daughter in the Montana Hotel. He had the absolute arrogance to tell them that was too bad they did not come to him earlier because he could have had her rescued. What a heartless POS BOR is.
And their attempts to disarm Americans will be met with a Lexington & Concord response.
Lexington & Concord will be like a walk in the park if they try it now. Fascist jackboots, be warned - You WILL NOT disarm us!
TWO Fed. licenses required to manufacture or deal in NFA items.
Additional STATE licenses may also be required.
Unless he gets the “famous personality” special treatment, he would need more than thirty days to get the FIRST license, another 30-90 for the second.
Even then he would not be able to complete a legal transaction in thirty days.
F3 (dealer to dealer) transactions are taking 45 - 120 days, F4’s (Individual to another individual or dealer) are taking AT LEAST four months to nearly a YEAR!
The faster way would be to become an O7 SOT holder and build a legal post-86 Dealer Sample gun.
With special consideration from the anti’s at ATF he MIGHT get licensed, and a gun built and registered in two months.
Of course that still was not the bet, the bet is to legally BUY one in under thirty days.
And post-86 guns cannot be sold to the general public, so the resulting gun still would not meet the requirement to be a gun that could be purchased.
Using his position to take advantage of the Hollywood expedited transfer process would be cheating, it’s not available to the general public.
He is also NOT an LE agency, so no expedited transfer from that angle either.
Most LE guns are also not from the same pool the public has to buy from.
Ted could have made it a million dollars, or trillion, his money is perfectly safe without special chicanery being perpetrated by ATF.
If ATF did do a transfer that fast, the howls to congress from citizens still waiting several months for THEIR transfer would really shake up ATF-NFA.
I could almost wish Ted would lose the bet, just for the resultant shake-up at ATF-NFA branch!
The bet was a “Legal” gun, home conversion has been illegal since 1986.
very easy bumpfire stocks
bumpity bump-bump
O’Reilly has let his head get so big that it has pulled-apart his brain from the inside. What an incredibly stupid and ignorant claim to make. We stopped watching him last year.
guarantee ya fish,
the feds lock on to any discussion of GUNS with Eschelon
and if they want they too can purchase “illegal machine guns” in NO time.
