A tenured university professor penned an editorial in the Washington Post last week in which he skewered the Republican Party for its self-interest and self-righteousness and suggested President Obama had made a mistake for working with the GOP.
Self-interest and self-righteousness are at the heart of the Republican Party, wrote Professor Drew Westen in an article published last week in The Washington Post.
Westen, a tenured professor of psychology and psychiatry at Emory University, also argued that President Obama has a penchant for unilateral bipartisanship and made the mistake of working with the same Republicans who had just decimated the economy.

Obama Fails to Battle Back Against Bullies
Westen points to two overriding failings of the Obama administration: (1) The president is a gifted orator who has failed to use those skills to communicate boldly with the American people; (2) The president is a constitutional scholar who has failed to stand up for fundamental matters of justice.
Under item No. 2, Obama has allowed himself to be bullied by Republican rivals who specialize in such tactics. Westen speaks eloquently on this point and notes the irony of our first black president being virtually clueless about the principles that drove Martin Luther King:

Who is this pantload???

The worst thing that ever happened to this country was when government essentially took control of education.
Are we to understand that the democrats are selfless and righteous?
Democrats are self righteous for sure.
