DUMP GENERAL MILLS (support gay marriage)
http://www.dumpgeneralmills.com/ ^ | July 21, 2012

Posted on 07/21/2012 5:30:56 PM PDT by NYer

I never thought that by eating Cheerios for breakfast I would be supporting gay marriage. Your decision to pander to same-sex marriage activists has forced me to choose between your food products and my conscience. As long as food is produced by other companies my conscience is going to win out over the desire for another bowl of Lucky Charms. Until you stop supporting this radical social agenda I must, in good conscience, look for substitutes that I can purchase instead of the following brands.

Your diversity policy claims to respect “not just the primary areas such as gender, race and sexual orientation – but also cultural aspects including values, preferences, beliefs, and communication styles.” However, your public opposition to the Minnesota Marriage Amendment overtly disrespects the values and beliefs of many of your employees. To avoid misleading the public and potential employees regarding the true position of General Mills, I ask that you remove this misrepresentation from your website and any written materials unless or until you decide to actually follow through on your commitment to true diversity.

It’s not the role of corporate management to unilaterally endorse a controversial political issue unrelated to a company’s core business – particularly when doing so will alienate a large percentage of customers, employees and shareholders. I urge you to reconsider your decision to support same-sex marriage and to publicly oppose the Minnesota Marriage Amendment.

Sincerely,

Thanks for posting the list. I recommend making copies and putting them on the shelf at the grocery store, along with a brief explanation for shoppers who may not already be aware.

Indeed. Ever since this happened, I’ve started buying the off-brand store version. It’s just as good(how difficult can it be to make quality toasted oats anybow?) and it’s cheaper.

“However, your public opposition to the Minnesota Marriage Amendment overtly disrespects the values and beliefs of many of your employees.”

I’m sure many of their employees are unhappy about this. They work for General Mills in order to pay their bills, not to endorse a left-wing social agenda.

As far as boycotting goes, it might make more sense to go to your local markets, talk to the managers, and politely ask that they no longer buy anything made by General Mills, and post a sign suggesting good alternative products that they are proud to carry instead.

Write letters to the head offices of supermarket chains, asking them not to stock products, etc.

Might be a better way to hit GM’s bottom line, and I am sad to have to post this idea.

Thanks.

I already eat none of those things.

Eat real food, and avoid everything processed.

Real food does not have a list of ingredients.

Try steel cut oats. They cook in two minutes. (But I let them sit for 5 minutes after cooking) Mix them with yogurt and blueberries. But they are great with just a pat of butter.

Bump. Fortunately we eat a lot of Cheerios, they’re easy to find alternatives. But dang, these homo loving companies have their tentacles all over the place. Maybe an opportunity for cottage industries.

I concur on the steel cut oats. I make mine in the crockpot overnight at warm setting, using 4-1 ratio of water to oats.

Why would anyone want to eat the sawdust that they hawk as “cereal” anyway?
