During a morning news segment of Good Morning America, Anchor George Stephanopoulos, and Brian Ross, ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent erroneously and callously linked an innocent Colorado man with the same name to this tragedy without making any attempt at verification of his identity. His only alleged crime was being a member of the Tea Party.
So in an instant, the name of an innocent man was automatically linked to one of the most despicable acts of violence perpetrated against the nations citizens, and the Tea Party was demonized. This was done, because ABCs Brian Ross neglected to follow the first essential rule of journalism 101, always, always check and verify your facts!
Make no mistake, this was not an innocent accident, because on previous occasions, former Clinton White House Political Advisor George Stephanopoulos has attempted to link or malign the Tea Party or Sarah Palin.
This was done most notably in after the assassination attempt upon U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and eighteen other people in Casas Adobes, just outside of Tucson, Arizona in January 2011. This type of gotcha journalism practiced at any cost must be stopped.
There is a limit where yellow journalistic practices by media organizations which continue to perpetrate an active and ongoing fraud of disinformation campaigns must be eliminated. The perpetrators must be fined, suspended or fired as was the case involving Dan Rather in 2004, when he aired falsified forged documents about President Bush on CBS 60 Minutes.
ABC Brian Ross blurting out a clear un-validated libelous statement, showed an apparent intent to cast a dark ominous shadow on the Tea Party in the midst of a Presidential election years. Again, past was prologue in 2004, when Dan Rathers equally sinister design was to place doubt and suspicion in the minds of an unsuspecting...

Fire him.
The key is to get the words "Tea Party" and the event into the same sentence and allow the listener to make the association.
They did it here, they did it with the Gabrielle Giffords shooting, they did it with the airplane that flew into a building, it's SOP.
Never mind the fact that EVERY ONE of those events was in fact perpetrated by a leftist. The damage was done, deliberately.
Uh, let me think on this.....
YES!
I believe the orders to smear the Tea Party at every turn come straight from the White House.

Boycott ABC, ESPN and Disney Until ABC Fires George Stephanopoulos and Brian Ross
When felons are convicted they lose the constitutional right to own firearms. Subsequently when a low life like Brian Ross abuses the rights of free speech in what was akin to yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, he should (in my opinion) lose his freedom to work in journalistic endeavors.
Better not to fire him. Just keep bringing it up and bringing it up ad infinitum, then claim it’s Bush’s fault for making Brian say those nasty things.
“I believe the orders to smear the Tea Party at every turn come straight from the White House.”
Yup. Speed dial & text messaging. Points out the information path quickly, though, and who is “connected.”
Thinking as wishful as those believing Willard will save us all.
Yes, the real question should be, ‘should they ONLY fire him?
For willfully, with malice reporting a lie as truth.
Nail them on their lack of integrity, lack of honesty, lack of patriotism ... everything they've slung at us for 12 years.
Call 'em liars, 'cause they ARE.
Call 'em unpatriotic ..'cause they ARE
Call 'em unAmertican, 'cause they ARE.
STOP callin' 'em lefties and liberals ... they LOVE that.
Brian Ross is a LIAR and an unAmerican, unpatriotic enemy of America.
Yes indeed!
You're right. Regardless what happens from this point forward, they have essentially admitted to the world that they don't care about those things. If they did, they would have fired him that morning or at the very least placed him on suspension. They could still fire him, but that would only be due to external pressure and not because of integrity.
Yes they should fire him, however they will just hire a more tame democrat strategist to take his place.
So-called investigative reporters should be held responsible for their actions.
They should have proof of anything that comes out of their mouth.
IF they are wrong there needs to be a big FRONT PAGE apology and a hefty fine.
Keeping him gives us the ability to prove that ABC news is strictly an OPed site.
Actually, what should happen is that the TEA Party should sue ABC and its employees for gratuitously associating the TEA Party with the Aurora Massacre.
