Texas Congressman Michael McCaul grills Janet Napolitano, 15 February 2012.
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.): Madam secretary, theres been some speculation that the weapons used to kill Agent Zapata may have been possibly linked to Fast and Furious. Do you have any information to indicate there is a connection there?
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano: I have no information to that effect, no. I dont know one way or the other. -- Hearing before the House Homeland Security Committee, 15 February 2012.
Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the scene of his ambush murder.
Congressional investigators permitted to view Department of Homeland Security documents related to the Fast and Furious operation have located and seen an Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Report of Investigation (ROI) from August 2010 describing 80 weapons seized in an arms smuggling interdiction between Phoenix, Arizona and San Antonio, Texas. Of these weapons, the majority (approximately 50) were noted to have come from Operation Fast & Furious in Arizona, purchased by Uriel Patino and Jacob Chambers. The ROI was written and signed by Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jaime Zapata, who was shot dead in an ambush at a fake roadblock in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on 15 February 2011. At the time of the report, Agent Zapata was assigned to the Laredo office.
Two of the weapons found at the murder scene were later traced back to Texas -- One was purchased in August 2010 near Houston on behalf of accused drug dealer Manuel Gomez Barba, and the other in October 2010 by a Dallas trafficking ring that included Otilio Osorio and his brother Ranferi.

Holy crap this is big. If Holder intentionally ordered the murder of an agent to close a loophole...
bump...
And who set up the fake roadblock and knew that Agent Zapata was on that road....enquiring minds seek to know.
Holder will simply say that Bush started it. The MSM will run that as the story, the Republicans will run for cover, and that'll be it.
My theory:
Zapata signs the ROI and alert is sent to someone that Zapata is choking the gun supply and now has begun investigation.
Manuel Fabian Celis-Acosta takes care of the rest and is later freed as a thanks.
Convoluted.
Okay so on the very same day the Head of Homeland Security is grilled over a report of 80 plus weapons traced back to F&F, the agent who authored that report was killed with weapons from the Fast and Furious?
This wasn’t a murder Americans. This was an Execution of a United States Custom Agent who exposed said corruption.
It’s never the crime, always the coverup that gets em. That and a murder or two.
ISSA: String the bastards up!
So is the premise of this article the possibility that the murdered agent previously uncovered the F&F operation and was eliminated to keep his mouth shut?
So now the plot thickens considerably .... you’ve got Napolitano in front of Congress dumping it all in Holder’s lap when it looks like DHS’s got dirt under their fingernails, too. Did she lie? If she truly didn’t know about the Zapata report, should she have known which calls into question her competency? Now the question is WHY was Zapata killed? Just a lucky ambush or were more sinister forces at work?
Oops, my mistake. I see She was questioned a year after the agent was killed.
Still a cover up.

All someone would have to do is leak Zapata’s itinerary to Celis-Acosta and the problem would be taken care of that day.
Too many coincidences... Yeah they killed him to cover it up. They most likely just told the mules where he would be and that he was in the way. Their thugs did the rest and got a free pass back south...and a few guns to take with them.
The agent injured with Zapata was Victor Avila.
Apparently it was not a roadblock. It was an assassination. Two vehicles, 10 gunmen.

I’m guessing the “roadblock” was massaged in to make it seem less like an orchestrated hit.
He was set up and assassinated to stop his investigation that would lead back to ATF and Holder.

Ok, this is where it gets VERY WEIRD. 2 agents, traveling in a BULLETPROOF SUBURBAN, and they get forced off the road. One of the OPENS THE PASSENGER WINDOW, Zapata gets shot, AND THEN THE WINDOW IS CLOSED and Avila calls for help.
This sounds like the hotel scene from “Bullitt.” How much you wanna bet Avila was driving, opened the door, got shot in the leg when they nailed Zapata (in the passenger seat) and then rolled the window up when they were done.
WHO THE HELL OPENS A WINDOW TO 10 ARMED MEN WHO MADE YOU PULL OVER?
>>This explains why the killers knew Jamie’s route, the fake roadblock and the fact that he was issued a SUV without armor.
The SUV was bulletproof. They plugged the SUV with over 80 rounds. The PASSENGER WINDOW WAS OPENED BY SOMEONE.
So ... when macho man Obama sits in his 2nd floor ‘office’ watching his favorite sports shows and riffling through his ‘deck of cards’ looking at pictures and deciding who lives or dies .... was Zapata’s name on one of them? Hmmmm?
