In remarks today in Minnesota, President Obama said he hoped people would buy a "thingamajig":
(Video at link)
"I assume there are some folks here who could use $3,000 a year," Obama said. "Let's get that done right now. That means they're -- you know, if you got $3,000 a year extra, that helps you pay down your credit cards. That helps you go out and buy some things that your family needs. Which is good for business. Maybe somebody will be replacing some thingamajig for their furnace."

If Romney’s people are smart, they’ll turn this into Obama’s “malaise” speech.
Maybe a country will be replacing some thingamajig for their president.
Clearly the mark of someone far Far FAR away from knowing ANYTHING about commerce, capitalism, markets, manufacturing. A “thigamajig” to a normal non-marxist person is a tire, ball-bearing, a boat, a bolt, a picture frame, a bottle. zer0 does know about some things well, so lets give him his due: bureaucrats, abortions, regulations, fraud, cronyism, EBT cards, etc...
By the way, someone here needs to go sleuthing through the FR archives from back in the Bush years and find the articles where Democrats lampooned the Bush tax cuts saying that they only amounted to a thousand dollars per year at best which Americans would probably only use to buy little trinkets and crap.
Fast forward to today, and now it's official DNC 'Thigamajig' policy.
This needs to get batted back right into Democrat's faces.
Seriously, someone go look. Tell the Romney campaign while you're at it.
There is speculation that Obama will dump Biden from the ticket, and replace him with the “Sham-Wow” guy.
Well, we put a thingamajig in the White House and it isn’t working out too well.
He used a dumb word, but the point of his speech is even dumber.
What he is saying that Americans need to spend, spend, spend to help the economy.
Don’t put the money in savings; don’t payoff your bills; just run up more personal debt.
We can spend our way out of the recession. This is what he has tried to do at the government level, and now he’s advising it for Americans’ personal finances.
Just spend like crazy, and everything will be OK.
It’s an appalling attitude.
We cannot afford to by Thingamajigs, because your Humdinger of an Economy has Fusterclucked our Doohickeys.
Winner! Post of the day.
Certainly everyone I know is going to run right out and buy something for their furnace on the 1st of June.
What an incredible embarrassment.
PRICELESS!!!!!
It’s all so easy for him. He lives off the taxpayers. Most of us don’t have an extra $3,000 to throw around
A monumental azzhat.
And the whatchamacallit lobby is also outraged !
The whatchamacallit folks are pretty upset as well.
30 seconds.... LOL!
