Shepard Fairey, the man who created the iconic Obama "Hope" poster, couldn't put the paintbrush down when it came to the case of Trayvon Martin.
Fairey is known for his amazing artwork and has continuously drawn inspiration from people who've made a significant difference in news and pop culture.
Commissioned by Ebony Magazine, Fairey created the piece a few months ago and will be featured in the magazine when it hits newsstands this week.
On the Trayvon painting, Fairey said:
"I have followed Trayvons case closely and I think any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed person. In my portrait I wanted to emphasize Trayvons humanity as well as the public outcry for a just investigation into his death."
For many of us, Trayvon's story has touched the entire nation, sparking a creative revolution among artists and musicians alike.
So if someone is using your head like a jackhammer on cement and you got a gun you shouldn't shoot him because he is unarmed. Just allow that person to crack your skull open like a walnut because obviously the brain is not necessary to survive as he would know.
...which any decent graphic artist could do in 20 minutes.
Me...I use a mouse for Photoshop "posterize".
Just what I was going to say. Probably took him 3 seconds. How artistic of him.
I have no idea what his gender identity is, but it must have been hell growing up with a name like “Fairey”.
That explains why he’s a flaming liberal.
And that explains why he didn’t Photoshop the picture of No-Limit-N***a with the tattoos and grill.
And it also explains why he didn’t he include No-Limit’s can of watermelon iced tea in the background.
Given how many people there are who still support Obama and the Democrats (no, not a rock group), I believe you are correct. (Although obviously, a lot of them are dead.)
Wish was I home so I could use photoshop...I would extend this pic to include his arms banging Zimmermans head into the curb.
There is no way zimmerman can get a fair trial..
Trayvon Martin
". . . any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed person . . ."
I see Trayvon as a thug (unless there is some hidden evidence that we have not heard), and when the "unarmed person" is using his superior size and aggressiveness to beat another person to death, I don't mind at all when the "unarmed person" is shot to death by an innocent person.
Bastard! I’m standing in the aisle of a train going home and that pic of him as a baby holding skittles has me crying from laughing so much People are staring at me like I’m insane.
Different people can draw differently from the same image.
When I see this image I think of how an innocent child was influenced into a wasted life of drugs and thuggery by a dead end culture of victim-hood and entitlement.
I have personally been acquainted with young black kids that went from innocent youngsters to prison cell or grave in five or ten years.
The first guy to make this into a pistol target is going to make some bucks.
Is that the same size target as a B27?
Remember when Obama said if he had a son he’d want him to be just like Trayvon?
Go to the website for the movie forgreaterglory.com and watch the trailer. (Id provide the link but I dont know if its permitted.)
At the 1:23 mark ... maybe it’s a coincidence ... but it looks like O was fed that line by Hollywood.
Saint Skittles before his ascension into the Heavens on wings of dope smoking, hoodie wearing angels.
