In a considerable setback for a president eager to ravage the due process rights of the American people, Federal Judge Kathleen Forrest granted a preliminary injunction on Wednesday, striking down those sections of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2012 which sought to provide Barack Obama the power to indefinitely detain citizens without benefit of their 5th Amendment rights.

Signed very quietly into law on New Year’s Eve, the controversial Act has been roundly criticized as unconstitutional by groups on both the political left and right. Of greatest concern was Section 1021 which grants the United States military authority to exercise police powers on American soil.

Upon order of the president and at his sole discretion, agents of the military are empowered to detain “until the end of hostilities” anyone the president believes to have “substantially supported” al Qaeda, the Taliban or “associated forces.” (1)

“Allowed it???” Hell, only a handful of Republicans voted against it!!! It was the same in the Senate where it passed by something like 92-7! Every congressman who might have had any doubts was scared to death of being portrayed as weak on terrorism! So we have our Constitutional rights trampled so our fearless elected officials can play politics!

Amazing, isn't it? This was a Republican bill. Obama was rumored to be about to veto it. Yet everyone here is shocked and blames it on Obama. This is what Fox News and talk radio have done to conservatism. It's all trivial stuff like Reverend Wright and gay marriage while the Constitution is shredded. I have special contempt for Mark Levin, because he should be all over this. But he doesn't want to offend his yahoo affiliates by appearing weak on those scary terrorists.

I’m sort of interested why Boehner is failing to go after fast & furious.
Why he allowed the debt ceiling to raise?
Why he allows obammy to spend my money without congress voting on it after all don’t they control the purse?
Why has he allowed these “czars”?
Why why why there Senore’ Boehner???

In that case Zero should have been out on the White House lawn with a megaphone in his hand, shouting, "Come out of there with my hands up!"
