a "fact" that went so un-"checked" that it stayed up on her agency's website in the official biography of her by-then-famous client up until 2007

I've seen numerous posts about this story, and hundreds (by now ) comments. What I've yet to see is any question about the above date and it's coincidence(?) to the 2008 election.

http://www.dystel.com/client-list/ "BARACK OBAMA is the 44th President of the United States. He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller DREAMS FROM MY FATHER: A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE." Uh huh. Looks like he got a haircut. Just the facts ma'am.

And all this time I thought, as the reporter said, he was born to a black man from Kenya and a white man from Kansas.

When it comes to conspiracies, I'm an Occam's Razor man. The more obvious explanation of the variable first line in the eternally shifting sands of Obama's biography is that, rather than pretending to have been born in Hawaii, he's spent much of his life pretending to have been born in Kenya.

Nice Mark. But this obscure Brietbart Brochure would never have been looked for, let alone found, were it not for everything fraudulent about Obama's origins. He couldn't even get a Driver's License where I live.

"As The Fordham Law Review reported, "Harvard Law School hired its first woman of color, Elizabeth Warren, in 1995." There is no evidence that Mrs. Warren, now the Democrats' Senate candidate, is anything other than 100 percent white. She walks like a white, quacks like a white, looks whiter than white. She's the whitest white since Frosty the Snowman fell in a vat of Wite-Out."

Even Steyn is a sellout on this issue. Sad to say. The possibility that Obama was actually telling the truth about his birthplace way back then isn’t even a consideration.

After all, if your first book is an exploration of racial identity and has the working title "Journeys In Black And White," being born in Hawaii doesn't really help. It's entirely irrelevant to the twin pillars of contemporary black grievance – American slavery and European imperialism. To 99.99 percent of people, Hawaii is a luxury vacation destination and nothing else.

Whereas Kenya puts you at the heart of what, in an otherwise notably orderly decolonization process by the British, was a bitter and violent struggle against the white man's rule. Cool! The composite chicks dig it, and the literary agents.

I agree with Steyn. I think Obama was lying about where he was born back in 1991 for the very reasons Steyn illustrates above.

I still believe Obama was born in Hawaii. I still believe the Kenyan birth conspiracy was absurd. But I now think that Obama himself was the first "birther" because it just wasn't cool for a revolutionary to have been born in Hawaii.

It’s amazing to watch this play out in real time, as the MSM makes a dying effort to embargo the news.

Shades of Monica Lewinsky, Swiftboat Vets, etc.

Eventually, the dam breaks.

Breitbart.com is doing amazing work, among others. David vs. the MSM Goliaths, and Goliath is staggering.

Obama should be more worried about where he’s going than where he came from.

... Vice President Biden told them: "You're an incredible generation. And that's not hyperbole, either. Your generation and the 9/11 generation before you are the most incredible group of Americans we have ever, ever, ever produced."

I find it incredible, myself, that so many people without knowledge or skills survived to (chronological) adulthood. Natural selection FAIL.

So Mark Steyn says:

“I’m an Occam’s Razor man. The more obvious explanation of the variable first line in the eternally shifting sands of Obama’s biography is that, rather than pretending to have been born in Hawaii, he’s spent much of his life pretending to have been born in Kenya.”
************************************************************
I’m disappointed in Mark Steyn’s “reasoning”.

So the fact that Obama had posted to his website a purported “certified Hawaii birth certificate” that turned out (upon examination by expert document examiners) to be a not particularly well done forgery must have been done solely so folks might think he was born in Kenya. Yeah, that’s by far the most logical explanation of Obama’s operatives manufacturing and posting that forgery—so it MUST be true using Steyn’s Occam’s Razor methodology. A contrary explanation that perhaps they wanted to set up “support” for the supposition that Obama was born in Hawaii is ridiculous on its face and therefore not likely to be true using Occam’s Razor rule. To have just a little credence in this latter explanation must mean such a person is simply a crazed “birther”.

There are numerous other little similar indicators—the “most obvious” explanation of their existence certainly must be a life-long (well, maybe only until 2007 when the possibility of the Presidency occurred to him and/or his handlers) pretension by Obama to have been born in Kenya.

Yes, very logical Mr. Steyn. And very courageous of you to step forward with this latest “obvious” explanation. Yes folks, pay no attention to all this smoke seeping out in different places—there’s no fire; just perhaps someone trying to make you believe in an imaginary fire! Isn’t that just so obvious?

So, how do the obammy supporters explain this one away? Typo? BS.

I surmise that in 91, Obama had no such visions of being president so he could be honest about being born in Kenya. But later, he had to lie. Seems his sanitation crew missed this little gem.

But who is going to confront him and have him explain it?

Simple spelling error - Kenya is so very close to Hawaii - heck, they even almost sound the same. And it’s not like someone would notice the fine print on a man’s nationality. It’s an honest mistake by the lit. agent. Can’t we move on?
