Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett is threatening to keep President Obama’s name off the state’s ballot in November unless he receives confirmation from Hawaii that it has a valid birth certificate on file for him.
Bennett, who spoke to Arizona radio host Mike Broomhead Thursday, said he requested the confirmation eight weeks ago and has not gotten it. Hawaii, he said, does not have to supply a certified copy of the birth certificate, merely send him an email confirming that it has one.
Asked by Broomhead if he would remove Obama’s name from the ballot if Hawaii fails to comply, Bennett said: “That’s possible. Or the other option would be that I would ask all the candidates, including the president, to submit a certified copy of their birth certificate.”
Despite overwhelming evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, the issue of his birth continues to dog him. Thursday, Breitbart Big Government reported on a promotional booklet by Obama’s own literary agency listing him as having been born in Kenya.
Bennett said Hawaii law permits government officials to request verification of possession of a birth certificate in lieu of a certified copy.
“They could say yes tomorrow and the whole thing goes away,” Bennett said. “If they can’t say yes to that simple question, than it makees we wonder if we have to take it to another level. One way or another, we have to have some simple verification that people are qualified for the office if they’re going to be on the ballot here in Arizona.”

One way he has a real one saying he was born in Hawaii, then it’s done; the other way they have to lie about it and it’s done?
This is exactly what I think. I think they believe that his document will be produced some day, and if it is not absolutely conclusive that he was actually born in Hawaii, people will say "Ah HA! You've been intentionally misleading us all this time. You people (Hawaiian DOH) are LIARS!
Also there may be perjury charges, though I think their defense will be "what they did was legal."
I have said this from the beginning. State privacy laws cannot be allowed to trump a REQUIREMENT of Constitutional LAW! One would think that we wouldn't have to create a Federal law just to cover this obvious principle.
An article from the LA Times says that the HDOH told Bennett he had to prove that he’s authorized to ask for that record. So they’re giving him the runaround rather than denying that they got the request.
They’re going to try to say that unless the law specifically says he can write D-E-A-R-D-O-H, he can’t do it.
What the HDOH hasn’t considered is that Bennett is authorized to ask for whatever he needs in order to be comfortable putting the candidate on the ballot. If they don’t want to show him what he needs, then fine. He’ll just keep Obama off the ballot, and Obama himself will have to try to get Fuddy to pull her finger out of her rear end and actually do her job once. (Though Obama would never want Fuddy to REALLY do her job.)
This time Bennett has said the default is for the name to be LEFT OFF. They can stall all they want, but it’s only going to insure that Obama doesn’t appear on the ballot.
If Obama’s name is left off the ballot, do you think the DNC will appeal in court or does Bennett have the last word?
I think they could appeal it in court, but I think they’d be hard-pressed to find anything in the law that would deny Bennett’s discretion to deny him placement on the ballot.
He’s drawn the line in the sand; if they want Obama on the ballot now is the time they should be acting.
Trouble for Obama is that Hawaii CAN’T verify any of Obama’s birth facts, because Obama’s BC is amended and most probably also late. They had to alter their birth index to get Obama’s name on the list, so his name must not be in the list of legally-valid records.
The best Obama can hope for LEGALLY, given this situation, is that he present his records to a judicial or administrative person or body and that person/body examines everything and finds it to be legally probative. He obviously doesn’t want to take his chances with that - and for good reason, since even HI Gov Neil Abercrombie (one who had previously claimed to have seen Obama with his parents shortly after his birth but later privately told Mike Evans that he first saw Obama in HI at tee-ball age) told a Star-Advertiser columnist that what they have for him in Hawaii is not going to convince any skeptics.

True, but it DOES NOT HURT to attack the enemy on multiple fronts and do as much damage to him as possible pending final victory. We should be careful so as to not belittle those allies who are attacking at a front which we don’t think is THE critical front.
This is great. Obama can't let that "original" BC out, because the circumstances of his birth are contrary to U.S. constitutional requirements for eligibility to the office.
I'm glad they're making an effort on this at last. Hawaii should have stuck to their guns in 2008, but they let Obama and Nancy Pelosi intimidate them. They made the mistake of holding a confidential, off-the-record hearing concerning Obama's eligiblity in October, 2008. It should have been public, with everyone from Fleet Street to the Asian Wall Street Journal invited to cover it.
In a closed meeting, Obama could say "whatever it took" to get Hawaii to certify him (actually, Nancy Pelosi sent them a letter pretending to "certify" Obama, which the DNC cannot do; that's Hawaii's job). Plenty of cover for nasty, ominous innuendo and such.
They can't. They've gratuitously lashed themselves to the mast with the Good Ship Obozo because they realize it's their last chance to "win history"; the facts are catching up with socialist fascism, Euro-sytle.
