Republican presidential nominee nomineeMitt Romney delivers the commencement speech at Virginia's Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Saturday, May 12, 2012.
"Marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman."
From everyhting I have heard, he gave a great speech...and had the graduates and their guests applauding quite a few times.
I believe Husseion, the Kenyan Marxist, went ahead and put this same sex endorsement on the table now in the hopes that it will energize his base, get him some money, and then blow over and be old news.
I think he is mistaken. I believe anyone holding to traditional values, even in his own voting blocks will think twise about their vote and he will lose some of those votes to Romney, and others will stay home.
They should keep hammering this, along with about every other endorsement and commitment thaty has come out of his mouth since the 2008 campaign.

One thing I believe about Romnney, despite his past record, he is campaigning on the right issues now, and he wil fight Obama hard. He will not play kit gloves with him, but I believe he will go after him in a hard way which McCain did not do, and which he should have let Sarah do in 2008.
Rasmussen Reports has Romney with 50 percent and Obama at 43 percent. Out of 50 supporting Romney 43 of them strongly disapprove Obama, out of 43 supporters for Obama only 21 strongly support Obama. That means more then half of Obama supporters are somewhat supportive (22 of 43) while Romney has only 7 of 50 somewhat of disapproving Obama. This is not good for Obama. I am interested in seeing how this translate by state and electoral college votes. Supporting gay marriage, low job creation in April, GDP slowed to under 2 percent growth, debt skyrocketing and now JP Morgan announce 2 billion in derivative losses (cannot blame GWB for not monitoring Wall Street, more like looking the other way while Obama collects donations from bankers). Have a feeling JP Morgan and the other four major US banks were making derivative plays on EU crisis and taking losses as the crisis becomes more unpredictable. MF Global was the warning sign on how Wall Street was thinking and betting on EU debt crisis. I think stock market will collapse in the summer from EU crisis. Wonder what the Fed Reserve will do as DJIA falls and deflation threatens the world economy, print more paper currency??!!!!
Here is the rumor on the streets. Last month the five largest banks met with Fed Reserve. They were using computer models to make computerized trades in leveraged derivatives on EU debt crisis. Something went wrong and the top five US banks own derivatives that are losing value rapidly and there is no buyer for them. The Wall Street bankers are going to the US gov to see if they can get a bailout that is not call a bailout. Fed Reserve and Fed Treasury know that it is politically impossible to act but the bankers are threatening them with financial implosion again. Wait and see how the markets react Monday morning after JPM announced their 2 billion in losses from bad bets in the derivative market. Note CEO do not give out real numbers, 2 billion is released just to test the public reaction to the bad news. If they are stuck with derivatives losing value as time goes on with no buyers, JPM losses may be more then 2 billion. We still haven’t heard from the other 4 Wall Street banks on their positions in derivatives and what their losses will be. In the mean time the EU is falling apart adding more stress to the derivative market.
IMHO the financial crisis will undo Obama administration and prevent their victory in the fall 2012.
Good analysis and perspective, Jeff.
I am surprised and disappointed they had him as the speaker.
I am surprised and disappointed they had him as the speaker.
I’m sure you’ll get over it. Don’t let it get you down too much.
Seems ironic and STUPID, GOP.
Romney INVENTED “RomneyMarriage” (gayMarriage)
AND Imposed it by his own will against
the Mass. Constitution.
No problem for the stupid party, though.
Romney didn't invent any such thing. The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts did.
Romney’s commencement speech was very good. Such a stark contrast to obama’s speech. I just listened to Romney’s speech and it was very inspiring.
Exactly. People are so eager and quick to swallow the hyperbole.
The same is true of RomneyCare. It was created by the legislature there, over 80% of which were liberal dems.
Romney’s ability to change it was limited, his ability to stop it was non-existant.
He worked with them and did modify it and made it better than it would have been...and he is apparently proud of that...but it was still nothing you or I could crow about or want.
It is really MassCare.
The state of Mass has really neutered the governor and made it almost impossible for the position to stand in the way of the legislature of the courts.
But Romney issues almost 300 vetoes and people should take a look at those and see what he tried to stop and what he tried to do better...even though that overwhelming legislature turned over almost all of them.
This does not mean at all that Romney was a “extreme” conservative by our definition. Perhaps by his in the environ he thought he was, but his record was moderate. I’ll tell you though, when you really research and examine his record it is clear he is nothiong remotely compared to Obama...no where even close.
Now he is running unfettered of all of that, says he has changed his positions and has a stance on the issues at his site that illustrates this, and he has been running on it for 6 years.
That is why, with a solid House and Senate with a bunch of new Tea Party reps, we will hold him to those commitments because they will work and turn the country around and he will be seen as a huge part of it...and be re-elected for another four years if he does. He is not an ideolog, he will want that to happen.
The very chance of that occurring to any measure is infinitelty better than four more of Obama
Why I will Support Romney if he is the GOP Nominee
http://www.jeffhead.com/Romney2012.htm
Exactly...yet people attack it ad say somehow he is decieving us all...somehow setting a trap.
Hogwash.
If Sara Palin had given that same address everyone here would be high-fiving each other and talking about how great it was.
And it was.
I expect, with a House and Senate in GOP control with a bunch of new Tea Party reps, that Romney and the Congress will turn this country around ala Ronald Reagan and it will be wonderful to watch.
If he does, he will get another four years and his VP will get 4-8 after that. What a blessing that would be.
The very chancce that could happen makes it more than worthwhile to vote against Obama and for Romney.
Except what Jeff doesn't mention is that just under 4.5 years ago, Romney told Katie Couric 'twas "OK" for parents to "donate" their offspring to "research."
So much for Jeff Head's open distortion that Romney "has changed positions"...
Unless, of course, Jeff, you want to illustrate this in your own life...perhaps when your children & spouses become pregnant, you could advocate that they "donate" such a child "to research...".... Then you can come on board here with your "consistency" and tout how "pro-life" you are...
Truly pathetic...
So, keep following me around FR and hounding me, you are only showing your true colors in so doing.
I will stand on my record any day, and it doesn't involve following people around and trying to smear them in public with hyperbole and such hyperbole.
So...let's try reason and a sincere attempt to put it to rest. JR called a truce. We have much more to concentrate on than this...like getting as many al-American conservatives into the House and Senate as possible. Give this a rest and lets do that. What do you say?
JR also said no campaigning for Romney, but that hasn't stopped your from your regular linked Romney advocacy "testimonies" from you...etc.:
May 17, 2012: Video - Mitt Romney gives 2012 commencement address at Liberty University (Post #11)
May 16, 2012: Voting for Romney (D-Mass.): The Worst Mistake a Conservative Could Make [post #254]
May 16, 2012: Voting for Romney (D-Mass.): The Worst Mistake a Conservative Could Make [Post #41]
May 11, 2012: Rasmussen : Romney 50%, Obama 43% [post #82]
So as long as you both continue to campaign for Romney on FR as well as distort his present "pro-life" stances, you will be opposed...And, no, there's no teflon-proof comments that allow your distortions to stand with immunity.
I have made it clear that I do not "support" Romney in the sense that he was my candidate. He was not...in fact, far from it. I voted for Santorum in the first round of caucuses here in Idaho and Newt on the second. Never cast a vote for Romney. I have made it clear that my prferences were Sarah, Cain, Santorum and Newt in that order.
But you already know that, don't you Colo, so it makes your posts of this nature all the more transparent.
Now we are faced with the situation that Romney will be the GOP nomninee. JR made it clear in the truce that ABO conservatives were welcome here on FR and that we all as conservaticves should come together and elect the most conservative Tea Party individuals we could to the House and Senate, and that ABO Freepers could speak their mind.
That's what I am doing. I expect that if I somehow get out of line, that Jim, who I have known and worked with a whole lot longer than I have known the likes of you, and for whom I have the greatest respect, will tell me.
Do you speak for Jim, Colo? If not, and please pardon my rancor, because I seldom do this, but you have more than earned it. If you do not speak for Jim, then quit your whining and following me around like some kind of little liberal retard stalker and just STFU.
(Oh BTW, Colo, for your info, in good LDS circles, that stands for "Shut the Fudge Up"...just wanted to make sure everyone knew that in case you wanted to whine about that and try and get me banned or something).
(Which is why each of those links in my last post has the line, "This is why I support Mitt Romney")
So which is it? You support Mitt Romney, but you don't?
If you want to vote for Mitt, nobody in this Free Republic is tying your hands behind your back.
If you want to go around campaigning for him on FR via your constant Romney testimonies, then go ahead and walk the borderline to your heart's content. Won't be me giving you the eventual zot to join all those fellow Lds Romney zottables that have gone before you.
(Oh and I won't STGJU, either :) ... For you non-Mormons, that equates to: 'Shut The Green Jello Up')
"join all those fellow LDS Romney zottables"
More revelations about yourself every time you post. Lots of folks have been zotted, Colo...why do you have a particular interest in LDS zots? You want to make more of those happen, perhaps? IMHO you're a bigot, Colo, plain and simple. Pitifully sad.
I'll pray for you.
For any further discussion between us, Colo, please refer back to my post 16 on this thread.
That is all. Have a nice day.
Don’t worry about it.
There's great stuff coming out today about Obama.
The Arizona Letter to HAwaii about Obama's birth
Jeremiah Wright telling all about Obama
Obama's early literary agent releasing the Harvard Bio material
BZ. With all this coming out in one day it makes you wonder if the dems have decided to throw him under the bus or something.
