Missippy ping!

“Gillich pretty bad guy...old style ..Owney Madden/Frank Costello protege Dixie wise guy

I used to go to his clubs...open gambling and prostitution...wild...to this once kid

Pete Halat...if guilty and I have to figure he was...just this side of Satan..lord amighty

to have your best pal and his wife stone cold murdered is like ice

and these were fancy people

this stuff even linked with the killing of Buford Pusser’s wife 350 miles north

I don’t think this kind of thing is as common as in the past”

I don’t know anything about this, so am reposting wardaddy’s post.

I knew both Buford Pusser and Col. Sherry. Gillich and Kirksey Nix caused a lot of pain for many people, including my family. Col. Sherry was caring enough to look after me after I got into some trouble down in Biloxi and help me become who I am today. I am grateful for Col. Sherry.

Yepper - I came to Biloxi (Keesler AFB) in ‘86 the year befor it went down with the Sherrys. Gillich was bad, but Halat made him look like a slightly wayward Boy Scout. The whole deal ade me wonder about the South. 26 years later and it’s my home...this “damn Yankee” never left and wishes he had grown up down here.
