The Democrat habit of appointing good Democrats to positions without regard for the required administrative skills it calls for is hurting almost 900,000 disabled veterans.
The incompetence of Barack Obamas Veterans Affairs Department has created a bureaucratic nightmare in which more than 65% of its disability claims sit on someones desk for more than 125 days. More than this 16% of the cases that are brought to resolution are done so in error according to veterans advocate groups testimony to the House Veterans Affairs Committee last week.
The V.A is totally underprepared for the predictable increase in disability claims stepped up fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan has caused. The current projections of a 1.2 million case backlog and an extra 50,000 cases a year present a sobering scenario in light of the so far failed administration of V.A. Secretary Eric Shinseki a Hawaiian Democrat and retired Army General.
In response to the cold facts of his failure, Shinseki did what any good Democrat does; he promised better results by some future dater. He told his critics he would have 98% of his agencies disability claims settled in less than 125 days by 2015, when he should be long gone.
The failures of the Veterans Benefit Management System to properly care for those who have been injured protecting our freedoms cannot be blamed solely on Shinseki. As is the case whenever any good and upright undertaking is malfunctioning in Barack Obamas America, the Faker in Chief is at the root of the problem.
While Obama has spent wildly hiring thousands of new IRS agents to make us knuckle under to his Obamacare scheme, Obama
. grossly underfunding the VBMS. The VA has requested just $92.3 million for 2013
.. spent
. $343.6 million in 2011 and 2012.....

It took me a year to get treatment for cancer with the VA.
,,,,, get in line .
Asked my dad’s VA doc (race shouldn’t matter, but I can tell you to guess it in this case) right after 2009 inauguration, what she thought of Obama.
She spent 15 minutes RAVING on how AMAZING he was for the VA and vets, etc...
I wonder how she feels now. And if she feels different, would she admit it? That’s the issue I am having with a lot of Obama voters. They are in total denial, or won’t admit to supporting him. As if my memory doesn’t go back three years to when they were near hysterical in supporting the “Historical President.”
Ah, so what? These are only red-blooked Americans who risk life and limb for all of us.
In obamaville, they’re expendable.
red-blooked = red-blooded
Shinseki-san was the Affirmative Action appointee who, as a General, ordered us all to wear the black berets.
His solution to sagging morale? Accessorize.
My new GF is an ER tech with the local VA Hospital. Oh, the horror stories she brings to the table...
Beyond the issue of VA disability claims, consider this, every time someone moves into the SS Disability side, they are removed from the workforce...and the percentage of those out of work goes down. I saw some figures recently of many millions now on SS disability over a few years ago, or the Obama plan to lower his unemployment percentage.
As far as the VA goes, I believe they should be provided all the resources they require. I’d rather see money spent on a disabled vet then on some welfare drug user.
Bad link
Veterans are not Barry’s people.
He needzes dat monies fo da bailout monies in my EBT card.
You think it’s bad for the VA now-—wait until Obamacare rolls in and we are all waiting in line for care.
Incompetence in the VA will be like a boy scout picnic compared to National Health care.
Now we do know incompetence is partly to blame and we can point to Democrat appointments at VA and I read this morning that the same problem holds true with the Secret Service now, with Obama appointees hiring out sex while setting up Obama’s visits.

.....lots of stories about how the VA takes ages to process disability claims.
I got hurt and got a LOD. Been trying since Nov 2005 to get VA to process my MEB. Still ongoing.
jimtorr is my lil bro, he has firsthand knowlege of some, from the guys he knows, and his brother. I filed a claim in Feb 2002, they will only acknowledge back to Jul, 2003, and my appeals are in remand since Jul, 2007, still waiting for “due process”, whatever that is. I am up to 60%, but that is from the Agent Orange related Diabetes claims I filed in 2010.
