Mark Levin: Paul Ryan says to rally around Romney, but why should I? Just because he said so?
the Right Scoop ^ | March 31st, 2012 | Staff

Posted on 04/01/2012 2:03:46 PM PDT by Sun

It’s very painful to watch all these politicians – even some who are conservatives, don’t get me wrong, but they’re politicians nonetheless – that we all have to rally around, rally around…

Let me tell you something. We have to rally around the Constitution. We have to rally around our children and grandchildren. We have to rally around principles, tried and true principles based on human experience. This isn’t about rallying around some politician. It’s about fighting for our country, taking our country back. This is the process.

But to hear some of these numbskulls who think they’re so smart tell us “yeah there’ve been some people out there who’ve really divided us“. Well then I guess we shouldn’t have a primary! I guess we shouldn’t look at anybody’s record! I guess we should just say ‘John McCain you’re it, Bob Dole you’re it, another Bush you’re it, eh Romney you’re it, this one’s it‘, why do we go through the process? In other words that’s just about as stupid as you can to get to make comments like that.

He goes on to suggest that just because Paul Ryan says to rally around Romney, doesn’t make him want to change his mind.

After voting for the RINO McCain, who lost and gave us Obama, I promised myself I would never vote for a RINO again. Romney is a RINO and so I can never vote for him..

“Romney will be WORSE than Obama re-elected.”

*Supreme Court justice nominees
*Energy policy
*Tax policy
*Debt reduction policy
*Russia, Iran, Israel policies

Can we mark you down in the Obama column, the
stay home column, or the slightly given to
hyperbole column?

It seems Romney is going to be the GOP nominee.

It's clear that Romney is a pragmatic opportunist, not an ideologue.

He seems to have honed the concept of situational political philosophy to an art form.

I really don't care what he had to say to get elected Gov in the anti GOP political insane asylum that is Massachusetts.

FWIW, Romney Care actually makes sense in a state where the irresponsible politicians and judges have already mandated lavish and unlimited FREE medical care to just about everyone in the state, including illegals. Somebody has to pay for it all.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to pin Romney down to reasonably conservative positions on the current issues and on the kind of Supreme Court justices he would appoint rather than dismiss him put of hand.

No way can Romney be worse than Obama, and if Obama gets elected for a second term our country as we know it is finished for good

The same people who went on the warpath against Santorum will no doubt say we have no choice but to back Romney now.

lol.

I think Romney was their choice all along.

“Milt will have to personally cut me a check for my support just like he did for these dopes that are endorsing him.”

Well, Democrats do buy followers- and that’s what he is, regardless of what letter is next to his name.

Obama will again get 95% of votes from African-Americans. Without them Obama would have a very difficult time winning in 2012. Cain was the only candidate who had a chance to get 15 to 20% of that vote. Newt, Rick, Mitt or Paul will not get more than 5%.

Mark Levin did say that he would vote for Romney IF he becomes the nominee.

But it’s way too soon to give up. If conservatives are not afraid, we CAN have a CONSERVATIVE nominee, Rick Santorum.

I don’t see Romney being any different or much different on any of those things.

I’ve been bought before. I hate John McLame with a passion, but he purchased my vote with the selection of Sarah Palin. Who knows, Milt may be able to do the same thing come convention time?

So when he pushes liberal policies that both parties vote for... then what?

I find it interesting that some FReepers who screeched long and loud about Santorum’s endorsement of Arlen Specter years ago are now rationalizing supporting Romney for political reasons.

Very true! The hypocrisy I've seen on this board this past week is simply stunning!

“It’s worth noting that the Obama Administration continually points out that ObamaCare was, in a large way, modeled after RomneyCare. Romney has rightly received much criticism from economic conservatives for the obvious similarities between his plan and President Obama’s command and control plan.

Governor Romney often defends his plan by rightly saying that the states are “laboratories of democracy.” However, he should recognize that this is one lab experiment that has completely failed. According to a Heritage Foundation analysis of RomneyCare three years out, the budget for subsidized care had exploded from $133 million in FY2007 to around $800 million by FY2009. In the first year, Massachusetts raised $12 million in revenues from tax penalties assessed by the Individual Mandate. The Massachusetts Taxpayers Association projects a FY2010 budget of $880 million.

At the time of its passage, Governor Romney claimed that under his plan “the costs of health care will be reduced,” but the Cato Institute has highlighted several statistics that show that RomneyCare increased costs, including the fact that premiums rose faster post-RomneyCare than anywhere else in the nation, 21-46% faster than the national average.

Cato also noted that there is mounting evidence that “Massachusetts residents are responding to the individual mandate not by obtaining coverage but by concealing their insurance status. Coverage gains may therefore be less than official estimates suggest” and that “despite stiffer penalties than ObamaCare will impose, increasing numbers of people are gaming the individual mandate by only purchasing health insurance when they need medical care. Such behavior could ultimately cause the ‘private’ insurance market to collapse.”

Empirical evidence demonstrates that RomneyCare has failed to control health care costs, increased the size of government, and by its very nature introduced more government and less freedom into health care markets. Governor Romney should admit that RomneyCare is a failure, and soon.
snip

He (Romney) has changed his position on several economic issues, including taxes, education, political free speech, and climate change. ..”

If you REALLY want to beat Obama, Romney is the weaker candidate.

“We’ve got to TRY to stop him in the primaries.”

YES.... YES...... but Tuesday in Wisconsin is a chance - calling all Wisconsin voters to vote Santorum or Newt. This whole process makes me sick. The GOPe hates the Tea Party - the Dems hate America and we need to mop up this mess. Grab out country back. Sarah is right! Rush is Right, Mark Levin is right! Let’s not give up. Our future is at stake and Freedom is NOT Free. Keep up the good fight and make phone calls, do your part! Are you with me?

No way can Romney be worse than Obama...

Think of it.

You're THE God in heaven.

1.7% of Americans belong to a certain religious sect-- and probably about half of them believe they can become a "god." And that they are already a "god in embryo."

One of them runs for THE leader of the free world.

Ya know...
...when voters -- especially a high % of religious voters
-- are actually willing to endorse & sanction the idea of voting for a "competitor" -- a "rival" if you will -- to THE God of heaven & earth...
...and convey to the next generation that it's "A-OK" to vote for "god wannabes..."
...guess what?

THE God of heaven gets a wee bit provoked over so many people endorsing & sanctioning outright idols & idolatry & lifting that up as the nation's "role model" for generations to come!

If Romney gets nominated, our country has given God grounds to be "finished" off...no matter who would win the General election.

(And don't any of you traitors -- once you've cast a vote for Romney -- EVER critique socialized healthcare again...with you having sanctioned it with your very vote!)

WAY too many FREEPERS convey -- via a projected Romney November vote, "Well, I voted for the guy who was against partial-birth abortions because at least his dismemberment massacre upon those in the womb didn't include those already headin' down the birth canal."

Wow! How "conviction-savvy" can conservatives get! /sarc

I am waiting to see how the Supreme Court rules in June on Obamacare. If they strike the individual mandate, but keep the law, our constitutional government is dead. There is nothing left after that. At that point, it will not matter who we vote for, it is all an illusion. We have a tiny, tiny fighting chance to keep our republic right now, but only by God’s mercy will it continue.

I've been reviewing what was happening four years ago, when McCain was the nominee. McCain was an utter traitor to conservatism -- he embraced all the big-handed statism in concept of the liberals. Liberalism, not the Democrat, was, is, and will always be the enemy.

Romney embraces them even more than McCain did. There is no "lesser" evil here. Liberalism is the enemy whether it's Clinton, McCain, Obama, or Romney. Romney would destroy the Republican party's use as a tool for conservative causes.

Plenty of us here were, from the git-go, advocating stomping Romney out like a bug immediately after '08, promoting the truth that he is poison to the Republican party, poison for America, becaues he has used his government office to promote virtually every thing conservatism stands against, from nationalized medicine and on-demand abortions, to global-warming cap-and-trade nonsense, to pro-homosexual agenda forcing acceptance of open homosexuality in every aspect of our lives.

Others here were reassuring, "Nah, in four years, Romney's toast. He's outta here."

While I and others were saying: "The guy is a vampire, sucking the blood out of the Republican party. He needs a stake driven through his political heart."

Romney is bad, bad news all around. He's a Republican, so conservative Republicans will be hog-tied in fighting liberalism because it will have become a kook cause. The word "Republican" will mean zilch.

Obama is bad, bad news all around, but he's a Democrat. Conservative Americans, and Republicans could be bold in fighting liberalism because it is something the majority of Americans resent and despise, regardless of the picture the MSM puts in front of us. When the Republicans put forth as big a liberal as the Democrats, it becomes ludicrous.

We might lose fighting another four years of Obama, but Obama's re-election would further conservatism in the Republican party.

A Romney win in 2012 would assure the growth and strengthening of liberalism in the Republican party and in the Democrat party. Democrats would be praised for being bi-partisan!

“I don’t see Romney being any different or much
different on any of those things.”

Really? If your perception is reality why do you
suppose an obviously intelligent man like Romney
would want to replace a person of his own ilk
for a cut in pay? Is his ego that large? Or may
you be flirting with hyperbole too?
