I wish everyone would just stop talking about her. That whole situation is a human train wreck of unfathomable proportions.
As humans we are beginning to play around with things that we have the analytical minds to create, but not the morality to control.
Lack of celibacy has nothing to do her fourteen kids. I think they were all in vitro fertilizations.

Well, it’s true, they are at least alive which is

I don’t know the history of her prior pregnancies, but I do know the octuplets were conceived through the use of artificial insemination plus fertility drugs.
The emphasis on celibacy or not celibacy, in the article, seems off point to me, in that I never heard of this woman until the octuplets she had by other than natural means.

Her situation disgusts and repulses me -- I'm neither defending nor excusing. But if one is going to ride a high horse, accuracy in the verifiable facts is important. Just trying to help out....
I’m on the fence on this one. The sad reality is that there are 14 kids that are depending on her. Its easy to just pile on and say ‘she made her bed, she needs to lie in it’ (no pun intended). But what about the kids? I don’t think anyone on this board would like to see 14 kids living in the streets. As far as posing in a magazine, as sad as it sounds, I think she is playing the only card she has left. Its not like she can go back to school and get a job and get daycare for her 14 kids. It boils my blood that she was able to create this mess in the first place. And, she seems to have moeny to spend on herself. I’m surprised these kids weren’t placed in foster care a long time ago. She obviously doesn’t have the means to pay for them and there are many couples who would love to provide a nice home for them.

In any event, she struck me as certifiably insane. Extremely manic. Talked a mile a minute, as if she were hopped up on coke with speed chasers and a couple of tankards of coffee to wash it all down. Lilted from topic to topic like a hummingbird; couldn't stay on the same thought path for more than 10 seconds at a time. Had a snap answer for everything.
She's a tragedy. The fact that she brought so many children into this world to share her personal hell is an even greater tragedy.
Someone should have gotten this skank a cork!

I admit I did not read the article because it sickens me.
I may have missed something along the way, but how many of these babies were born mentally normal...if any?
I may have misunderstood, but on TV yesterday or early today, the MD who implanted all these seeds into her has had his medical license revoked.
