If he did what he was convicted of, I hope that’s natural life.

Ahhh, but you can’t go after the Second Amendment in this case, so that’s why there is no outrage, as you see in Sanford.

Well, go on down to Jackson; go ahead and wreck your life.
Go play your hand you big-talkin’ man, make a big fool of yourself,

You’re going to Jackson, you gonna be someone’s prison wife.

I have the sinking feeling that he plead guilty for a life sentence on a plea bargain that should not have been offered. Unless there is a strong likelihood that he could not have been convicted in a jury trial, he should have been tried.

In fact, just today 3/22, Mississippi just executed a murderer, and another just two days ago.

Yeah, reading through the story, this...person sounds like a little sociopath.

Deryl Dedmon deserves the death penalty, not life.

It’s going to be an ugly life...and he deserves it.

Still, I hope somebody visits this guy and converts him to Christianity. Among the corporal (physical) works of mercy in the Catholic Church was visiting the imprisoned and among the spiritual works of mercy was instructing the uninformed.

So he could still make something of his life if he converts and understands what life is all about.

May God give him that grace, which will also be his own punishment, because acknowleging the wrong that he has done will make him suffer all his life. And he will only be able to make himself stop suffering by doing good.

Many saints were made this way.

I don’t agree with any hate crimes multipliers (for anyone, we are all equal), but life in prison sounds correct, if they are not going to give him the death penalty.

The sentence was too lenient, in my opinion.
