"Another presidential candidate had an energy proposal back in 2008 as well. Former Senator Rick Santorum’s ideas, however, went an entirely different direction. Rather than increasing production, his solution was to “reduce US oil appetite” in an article he wrote, titled, “Reducing U.S. oil appetite This is one cause that could be helped by smart mandates and taxing“

Thanks, katie!

I’ve never cared for Rick S., and have despised him even more during the Primaries as he has tried to portray himself as Conservative (like Romney does). ....Rick apparently forgets that his past is available to the public.

Ethanol mandates and subsidies must be canceled!

Whether they use health care or not, Newt wants the GOVERNMENT to FORCE them to buy insurance or be “HELD ACCOUNTABLE” that includes people who DON”T DEPEND on the GOVERNMENT---Fascism 101..

Second hand unsubstantiated claims by a biased insignificant news source with no quotes--we have Newt and Mitt quotes on THEIR support for the unconstitutional individual mandate.

Nice try but if these lies had legs they would be loudly heralded by every MSM outlet in America.

I think its kind of funny. These clowns come running to smear Rick Santorum with this crap from years ago, realize that Gingrich still has a mouthful and they’re trying to scrape it off their shoes and get away from it.

Agreed. If someone is looking for a topic to drop one candidate to select another, ethanol is not the deciding factor.

Anyone who has not made arrangements for themselves to cover medical expenses depends on the government or someone else when medical attention is needed. Santorum, Romney and Obama want the public to pay for their medical expenses but Newt wants them to make arrangements to take care of themselves. Which of those options looks more like fascism to you?

Your post brings up why our country will not survive. We vote our wallets. In the end it will (actually, it HAS) kill us.

No wonder he did so well in Iowa. He could’ve been there that whole year talking ethanol mandates.
