"Another presidential candidate had an energy proposal back in 2008 as well. Former Senator Rick Santorum’s ideas, however, went an entirely different direction. Rather than increasing production, his solution was to “reduce US oil appetite” in an article he wrote, titled, “Reducing U.S. oil appetite This is one cause that could be helped by smart mandates and taxing“

TP gets their stuff from oppo at the DNC (the finest in the nation funded year round), THIS WILL ALL BE USED AGAINST SANTORUM....do not deny it as Santos does...that is his biggest problem...everything is ok if he does it...

That does not change the fact that Santos called for a mandate - you all cannot win if you deny it -

I disagree with Santorum’s proposal here. But you are pushing an out and out lie when you make out as if it was his total solution or even a major portion of his solution. This article represented a fraction of Rick Santorum’s energy position. What’s more this mandate that was proposed was only a portion of the entire article which includes greater use of coal and reduced tariffs on imported ethanol to remove artificial price inflation.

I am just very tired of the dishonesty and desparation from the Newt supporters. I love Newt! But his campaign is over. He is helping Romney more than the Crazy Uncle at this point.

How did I push a lie? I posted an article to do with Santorum's support of an ethanol mandate...what is his solution? Newt has outlined his and I posted this because the Santorum freepers have been bashing Newt on something that was even LESS than what RS stated on this issue.

Newt is the absolute best man for president with the most conservative record. Bet you enjoy every post made that bashes him over and over with lies and more lies...RS has been given a break compared to Cain, Perry, Newt. Stay tuned because there will be more vetting on RS

Is there no limit to the brilliance and cunning strategery of our GOP candidates and the members of the GOP?!

I mean, seriously, someone hold me up, I’m about to faint just thinking about the sheer win that is the repubican party...

Spector would probably have won, without the help of Santorum, we will never know will we?

And, by Santorum’s DEAL with Spector, he got Spector to support EVERY Bush SCOTUS nominee.

We might not have a Chief Justice Roberts, if not for Santorum.

You deal with the cards you are dealt. It is very, very, very rare for elected officials to EVER oppose a sitting member of their own Party.

We also got Obamacare with Spector. Does RS ever take the blame for anything..he blamed Bush for his endorsement.
We may not have had Sotomyer without RS either

Santorum actually has a history of doing well with independents and Democrats.

Moderate Republicans SUCK with independents.

Why offer Democrat Lite if you can have a real Democrat? The truth is, I am more than happy to see Newt and Rick stay in, if that is the best way to deny Romney enough delegates, prior to the convention.

>> Which is worse? Healthcare mandates supported by Newt,<<

Do you not understand what Newt was saying in regards to requiring people to be responsible for themselves? He was saying that people needed to have a bond if they refused to have insurance. He is not advocating that the public pay for those who don’t have insurance like Santorum, Romney and Obama. Santorum, Romney and Obama think we need to subsidize the insurance for those who refuse to insure themselves. Newt believes we should require individuals to be responsible for themselves rather than rely on us.

>>You mean be FORCED by the GOVERNMENT to post a bond for not buying a particular product.<<

No, being FORCED by the GOVERNMENT to get off the government dole and taking out money and be responsible for themselves instead of relying on GOVERNMENT like they do now. In other words, “stop relying on the government to take care of you”.

I explained your lie very carefully but your too thick headed to understand it. Newt is done. He couldn’t win in November even if he could win in the primary. If Rick and the Crazy uncle both dropped out Romney would still win. This is not the same truth for Rick. He can win in November. And if Newt would quit angling for a convention spot he would get out of the way and Rick could beat RomKnees and go on to beat Obama.

“Because unless you vote for farm subsidies, you will be thrown out of office in most of the farm states.”

Somewhat off topic, but, since they’re bowing to political pressure anyway, why not simply give the farmers the money and let people eat the corn?

Even I know there won’t be a bumper crop every year.
