Doubling down on the ‘second coming of Jimmy Carter’ thing I guess.

Jimmy Carter 2 - new and improved! Now with rhythm and a tan!

Correction: “The United States has 2.4 percent of the world’s “proven” oil reserves: that is, oil we know is there and can be pumped using existing technology”

http://www.publicagenda.org/whoturnedoutthelights/world-oil-reserves

This includes what is used now. Not from shale oil, undiscovered or protected-area oil fields, or undeveloped resources. We are the Saudi Arabia of coal and have truly vast natural gas resources that remain untapped, from under the Great Lakes down to the beds under Utah that were set aside by Bill Clinton.

0bama’s figures are therefore bogus on their face. It is not that we have 2% of the oil reserves in toto, let alone what we can recover using newer technologies, but rather that we have 2.4% of the oil reserves currently being used.

BTW, Rush covered this today. If you don’t believe me, research it for yourselves.

Try flying a 747 on solar. Try trucking fruit and vegetables across country in a wind mill powered semi. Ain’t ever gonna happen. Enviroweenies don’t put any thought into anything.

“They get out on the campaign trail—and you and I both know there are no quick fixes to this problem—but listening to them, you’d think there were”

I wouldn’t call THREE YEARS ‘quick’ and he hasn’t done a damn thing. He has shut down anything and everything that would FIX THE PROBLEM.

As if he hasn’t been on a perpetual campaign from the day he got elected. He is so above it all. /s

For sure, it’s not Mittens.

Have a great idea. Let’s end ALL use of petroleum for fuel today and see how far his words take him. Then play that quote 24 hours a day for a week and see how long he lasts in office.

He uses more oil per capita than anyone on the planet (multiple 747’s to Hawaii) and then says this.

President Barack Obama on Wednesday dismissed oil as "the fuel of the past" as he made an unapologetic election-year pitch for his alternative energy industry policies and sniped at Republicans over painfully high gasoline prices.

Obama needs to get a paper route, or something. So far, every alternative fuels venture he has dumped our money into has failed. Those that haven't are on shaky ground.

While he talks about getting us off of oil, what he really does is tie us ever more tightly to foreign oil.

Exxon makes its money either way. They can drill here, or they can drill over there. They can put Americans to work and pay into the US treasury, or they can put Nigerians to work and pay into the Nigerian treasury. Either way they make their money, but in only one of the two cases do your relatives go back to work.

While he talks up solar and wind, just remember that solar and wind do not replace oil. They replace coal and natural gas, which we already have in abundance. Solar and wind, if they worked, would only put American coal miners out of a job. As it happens they don’t work, and have to be backed up by coal and natgas plants anyway.

So while he talks about getting us off of oil, what he does is attack our coal and natural gas industries at the very same time he attacks our oil industry. At the very same time he talks about putting Americans to work he guarantees that there are no jobs for them to go to.

Shouldn't the liberals be up in arms complaining we are using up other countries natural resouces for our own self enrichment?

...when we have our own natural resources to exploit.

Totally divorced from reality.

What is really sad is not that this guy exists, but that we have an electorate that voted him into office and a Fourth Estate that gives him a pass on pronouncements like this.
