Bad Newt - Used 30 Minutes of Megan Kellys On-air Time To Discuss his GA win and the GOP Primary.
Consensus of the Fox panel: Good grief!! Newt took 30 minutes to make his points!!! (30 minutes of not talking about Mitts Super Tuesday).
And what was up with Fox News not running the GA vote totals on the ticker strip?
Sarah Palin disclosed to Neil Cavuto that she voted for the cheerful one. (Newt)
Newt Gingrich picked up 69 additional delegates. His total to date 102 delegates. (By my count, he had 33 going into Super Tuesday and picked up 46 in GA, 2 in ND, 13 in OK and 8 in TN)
Larry Sabatos pronouncement early in the evening that the VA GOP Primary ballot was rigged to help Romney, shockingly was given air time. A two-man field gave Mitt the majority win and 43 delegates.
Speaking of Mitt helping (going by the GOPs own rules) the FL delegates should not have been winner take all, but rather proportional since the FL GOP moved their primary before March 1 (They were docked 30 delegates which Im sure they hope the GOP will forgive and return to Mitt but they refused to adhere to the March 1 = proportional delegates. This would have given Newt many more delegates.) Word is this issue will be resolved at the convention.
Near the close of Foxs coverage, it was very petty (but becoming his closing signature zinger) of Brit Hume to read a David Axelrod tweet saying that Mitt had just eked out a win in Ohio (Brit announced that tweet proved the Democrats dont want to face Mitt and would much rather face Newt or Rick).
In fact, the entire night of Fox coverage was a vision of dismissal, mocking and annoyance with Newt Gingrich.
Fox News is carrying a ton of bias baggage for Mitt Romney.
The question now: Can Fox News drag Mitt into the GOP winners circle?
March 10th -- KS Caucus (40 del)
March 13th -- AL Primary (47) AND MS Primary (37)
March 15th to 24th MO Caucus (49)
March 20th IL Loophole Primary (69)
March 24th LA Primary (18)
And so on
.
Ah yes!
She’s one of those who has to be right and Newt is not a lawyer!
Like you, my husband is a staunch prolife Catholic who goes to daily Mass, and has all his life, but he really doesn’t like Santorum, primarily because he can’t find an ounce of humility in the man.
He doesn’t impress him as being a leader or a statesman, or even an original thinker. He doesn’t exude confidence, whereas he sees of those qualities in Newt Gingrich, plus even more.
If prayers are answered, Newt Gingrich will some how win and Sarah Palin will some how be at his side.
“Newt. His speech was funny, relaxed and at times eloquent.”
Anyone have a link to Newt’s speech last night?
Not sure how this running total will line up (formatting) but it can be found here:

Apparently, your erudite posts are too much for a lot of folks to understand, -— just like it’s lost on that gaggle of gasbags at Faux News.
LOL.
VERY interesting!
Newt cannot drop out and he won’t!
Can hardly wait to see him tomorrow.
I found some hidden cash in my credenza drawer...lol.
Luncheon, here I come.
I see confidence in Newt.
In Santorum I see arrogance.
I see vast experience in Newt.
I see Santorum not quite out of diapers. (thank goodness because he looks like he is wetting his pants when he is asked a question)
Ignorance, arrogance and incompetence.
“your erudite posts”
What a great word!
I’m proud of you, onyx.
And I can see them pulling up “erudite” online to get the definition...
LOL
Just kidding.
Because as much as I might like to think it was my wording that went over their heads, in this case he simply ignored that which he didn’t want to address, which happened to be the point of the entire discussion.
Newt won South Carolina and GA.
Nobody is entitled to their own facts.
DUH.
“As of 15 minutes ago, neither Fox News nor CNN were displaying the Georgia results at the ticker at bottom of screen, despite Georgia being the biggest state last night. I would be even more offended if I was from GA.”
No other answer, they’re in the tank for their guy. But they’re growing frustrated and angry and not doing a very good job at hiding it.
I noticed Karl Rove is staying busy with his whiteboard making sure we only see percentages, not true numbers. And the never-right Dick M. continues to cluck-cluck his tongue while telling us there’s no path for anyone but Mitt. Continuous spin.
Current totals from SOS offices:
Virginia:
265,011
Mitt 157,696
Paul 107,215
Georgia:
900,132
Gingrich 424,854
Romney 233,175
Santorum 176,029
Paul 58,963
Huntsman 1,810
Bachmann 1,730
Perry 1,692
Roemer 1,140
Johnson 739
Thanks for the link...that vent made me feel much better :)
LOL. Thank you, txrangerette! I hadn’t realized your posts from last night sailed by without any replies! Nothing like ignoring the facts when folks have an anti-Newt agenda. Newt’s South Carolina win was a record breaker for voter turn out too. Not easy to ignore that one.
GOOD on you!
GO NEWT!!
I’m still without TV reception this morning. Maybe I should say, “mercifully” without TV reception.
I despise Rove and company.
lol - he's one of a few reasons i stopped watching FoxNews with any regularity.
I couldn’t believe it...post after post was saying Newt must drop out because he can’t win any state but his own. They didn’t qualify it by saying he didn’t win any others on Super Tuesday. JUst that if he can only win GA he’s got to go.
When I posted the South Carolina fact, crickets chirped.
I wrote CW that they were probably too sheepish to answer, and that I actually believe they forgot, with help from the media, and by that I mean ALL the media on every political side.
All of them have torpedoed Newt and have helped even our folks to suffer selective amnesia.
Scary!
Onyx, if just 10% of Gingrich’s support here in Ohio had gone to Santorum, then Romney would have lost Ohio, lost momentum, and lost delegates. That would have been a Newt victory in that it would have slowed down the Romney accumulation of the 1144 necessary to get the nomination.
If you are going to see Newt, then perhaps there’s a way for him to communicate to his supporters that slowing Romney is a win and that they should, at least for the time being, go for whichever non-Romney is higher in the polls the eve of an election.
If Santorum gets so many delegates that it, too, becomes a worry, then he can deal with that when it happens. In the meantime, the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

OHIO: ......”With Santorum ineligible for delegates in the 6th, GOP voters in Columbiana voted for Newt Gingrich, who finished a distant third, to receive delegates.........When you take Santorum out, Republicans went with Gingrich.”......
:)
Yep, the registration requirements for a low-rent candidate are enormous. Virginia made is so hard that only those who’d been in it before and with money were able to meet the standard. At the beginning both Gingrich and Santorum were campaign cash poor, and it hurt them. That hurt last night.
