The truest of conservative political pundits argue that, as a Presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is just Obama in a Reagan suitand, thus, even as the longstanding frontrunner in the primary, he cant seem to close the deal on getting the nomination.
To this point, most of the critical attention hes receiving has to do with his record on social issues. But, as Larry Pratt, executive director of the Gun Owners of America (GOA), points out, Romneys moderate inclinations and flip-flopping habits are converging on the conservative staple issue of gun rightsleaving folks like Pratt very concerned.
In his organizations latest email alert to constituents heading into the primary, Pratt outs Romney for his refusal, unlike the other candidates, to respond to the GOAs gun rights questionnaire.
Romneys stonewalling is no surprise, says Pratt. After all, he is on record supporting a semi-auto ban and waiting periods for gun purchases. Still, he has the audacity to travel around the country claiming to be a supporter of the Second Amendment.
For instance, would he veto a semi-auto ban, something he signed into law as Governor of Massachusetts? Will he reverse the Obama administrations support of the massive UN small arms treaty? And what about executive orders, gun owner registration, and a host of other issues important to gun owners?
Call Special Guests now to schedule an interview with Larry Pratt, and find out what has him most anxious about the likelihood of a RomneyObama battle.

Let him make a public event out of buying a hunting license, like Kerry did.
Governor Romney:
“These guns are not made for recreation or
self-defense,” Romney said. “They are instruments of
destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down
and killing people.”
I am too, he’s a Mormon!
if he does manage to get the nomination, I hope he doesn’t insult our intelligence by trying to buy a gun or talking about hunting.
Just promise to appoint judges to the SC and and various federal benches that understand the 2nd amendment and have a solid pro-2A history.
(Gov. Romneys news release, 7/1/2004)
In a move that will help keep the streets and
neighborhoods of Massachusetts safe, Governor Mitt
Romney today signed into law a permanent assault
weapons ban...
All of Romney's Judicial appointees were liberals, only 25% of them were even Republican.
It’s ok. I have a pic somewhere with Romney and Obama duck hunting together.
“I mean there’s no use in “buggling” for a moose”
I sincerely hope that was a misspelling.
Otherwise something really strange is going on in those north woods.
;^)
Ya know, this reminds me of Rush.
He is of course the king of conservative talk, but, apart from the Kentucky/Pennsylvania Long Rifle he received from the NRA around a decade ago.......I never hear him talking specifically about firearms or any particular guns that he owns. A listener never hears anything about his own personal likes or dislikes among the firearm world. I, a good listener, can’t tell you anything about Rush’s firearms ownership. Nothing at all precisely because he has never offered any firearms experience of his own.
I presume Rush is a 2nd Amendment stalwart due to his stances. I do not presume he a gun owner based upon his factual statements on the radio.
Romney has never owned a gun although he lied about it for a while during campaigning for 2008, before he finally admitted it, and Kerry I think claimed a single AK-47 that was a souvenir from Vietnam during the 2004 campaign, although he later changed it to a slightly different type of rifle from Vietnam, also maybe a shotgun.
“Suddenly, a heavyset man wearing a bright-orange cap entered the room. Mr. Romney, he called out. Eric OrffIm a hunter. It was a potentially awkward moment. Earlier this year, Romney claimed that hed been a hunter pretty much all my life.
A few days later, he said in a statement, Ive hunted small game numerous times.
Four days after that, Romney told W. Gardner Selby, of the Austin American-Statesman, Any description of my being a hunter is an overstatement of capability.
Still, he couldnt resist. Youre a hunter? he said to Orff. Well, same here. Good to see ya.
That right there is all I need to know about Romney, though what else I know would fill volumes, and it ain't good. NOT. VOTING. MITT.
No matter what.
Will write in or something if he is the nominee.
