US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner advised taxpayers to quit complaining, taxes are what you pay for the privilege of being an American.
You know, there are places in the world where the government can take everything you have, Geithner observed. The fact that you get to keep anything here ought to inspire a greater appreciation for your own governments forbearance.
The Secretary warned those he called the one-percenters, that government is the only thing preventing the other 99% from murdering you and looting your property. The protection we offer ought to be worth whatever it costs. Quibbling over the price of this protection may be an unwise course.

Privilege ? What an elitist @$$hole. So our God given freedoms are not rights but privileges subject to the whims of people like Timmy boy ! Kind of ironic, all Treasury secretaries before Timmy boy were kind of silent. Timmy need to STFU !
So Geithner’s not an American?
Mr. Geithner owes some $32,000 in back taxes. Which country will he be moving to?
*******
Has this man completely lost his mind?
Does anyone have any idea what this man is talking about?
That is, what group of murderers is he talking about?
I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone who would go out and murder rich people like Gates of Microsoft if it wasn't for the federal government holding them back.

This is mirse. When I wrote my original message above, I didn't notice the word "satire" in the original story.
So: Is this story true, or is it just a joke that I fell for?
I was about to ask, "This sounds like a THREAT". rofl
This really shouldn’t be satire. I’ve talked to plenty of tax supporters who all but outright declare that they are little more than protection money.
Is paying no taxes if you earn a modest living also one of the privileges of being an American.
No wonder everyone across the world wants to come here—most pay no taxes on income and the perks are free.
Just a thought.
