"He is the long term consistent conservative on every issue"

That is just a bizarre statement. He voted several times to spend money we don't have (raise the debt ceiling), voted against right to work, voted for Bush's prescription drug plan and always sides with the establishment rather then principals. He may talk a good game, but his record does not back-up his words. When Newt actually bucked the system, santorum stood with the establishment and helped push Newt out.

I was surprised when Gingrich got on stage and argued for big government solutions to the environment in a lovefest with John Kerry.

I was surprised when he had his recorded couch affair commercial with Nancy Pelosi.

I was surprised at the level of collaboration he engaged in with Hillary Clinton.

I was surprised that he has supported individual mandate at least from 1993 to this very day (of course it must be phased in he says).

I was surprised to see that he was willing to pony up to the amnesty table in a big way for felons as long as they have been here for 25 years or so committing their felonies.

I am constantly surprised at the extremely mixed bag of positions that Newt Gingrich holds. I think he is a fine and honorable patriotic American but a consistent, dependable constitutional conservative he is not and never has been. He seeks too many “special cases” when his compassion dictates that it is important enough.

I just naturally clicked off Santorum’s speech after about 5 minutes. I don’t know if he’s being intentionally boring or what ...

And what in sam hill’s name do we ALWAYS have to have the families up there — We KNOW you’ve got 7 kids ...we know it. No need for the parading of the kids all wearing the damn sweater vests. I can’t stand it. It’s just “feed” for the media. I hated it when Palin did it, and I can’t stand this. Your personal biz means nothing to me .. .what you DID in Congress, what you DID, your RECORD is what i want to see ...not your family, your living room, your taxes, whatever. Other than that, he has a very nice family ...very nice, but just crazy.

Thank you. I am so tired of these people tearing down our candidates. I’m tired of the “my candidate or I won’t vote” tantrums.

I’m with you, anyone but Obama. But I have to admit, I’d be thrilled with Santorum. I think he’d be an outstanding President.

Unbelievable Hypocrisy on your part. His post was entirely about tearing down every candidate but the one he supports?

He pointed out their different records then said he'd vote for any of them over Obama. He did say Newt's probably finished but he is. Once again though, if Newt makes a comeback, I'll support him 100%.

As far as my being a hypocrite, you'll never find one of my posts tearing down a candidate (except Romney).

Hate to break it to you Newt supporters... Newt is done, finished as a Presidential candidate,,, his biggest donor Sheldon Adelson has pulled the plug on Newt’s Presidential campaign, I guess Sheldon Adelson has seen the writing on the wall...

Right, similar to what happened to McCain in 2008. McCain lost the first 10 primaries hands down and loaned money to keep going.

As much as you hope Newt is finished, that just won't happen because one SUPERPAC donor pulls out and joins Romney. If anything it will prove very bad for Santorum. Unless Santorum truly did cut a deal with Romney to take down Newt.

Time will tell.

Answer this question ? why is former financial backer Adelson going to turn around and back Romney now ?..
Well ? remember all the Newt supporters trashing Rick for endorsing Romney in 2008 ? now Newt's financial backer is going to back Romney now... how about that !!

LOL. Yea I guess it should have been. Maybe he just meant to emphasize “rant” but a lot of this stuff just gets me so tired. I have stayed away from FR in terms of posting because of so many grouchy “my choice is the only choice attitudes”.

Nice back stabbery there. Do you mind adding me to the “To” box when you’re lying about my intentions? I have defended everyone of the candidates at one time or another against irrational jerk like you. My post was about the positives of my candidate with only analysis of any other candidate (except I always hammer on Ron “the nut job” Paul).

Who do you back? Make your case.

I put the R in front of his name because he’s always ranting and throwing hissyfits like a little girl. He’ll blow up and have a macaca moment in no time once Obama focuses on him. He’s big Union, big earmarks, higher min wage, for fed child care funding, big spending, etc.. Conservative on social issues yes, but really just a big RINO. He’s easily flustered and will cower in a fight with Obama, not to mention Ahmadinejad. He’s got the leadership abilities and motivational capabilities of Jimmy Carter. No thanks.

Did he ever get home to get his taxes done at his kitchen table? Because ya know he said- “I do m’own taxes. And nobody’s home to get ‘em. But when I do get home, I’ll get ‘em..” Sorry, but Obama and the Dems will savage Mr. Rogers here.

You’re looking at a mirror. You go look what I wrote. And look at some of the crap you wrote while you’re at it. (BTW, I meant to be insulting. I get tired of folks like you who think they can be smart alecs and rude and insulting and then cry like little girls when they get it back.)
