Obama Pulls Combat Pay For Deployed U.S. Troops
Pat Dollard ^ | February 4th, 2012 | Angelia Phillips

The Shark Tank:

President Obama’s latest policy outrage makes no attempt to hide his contempt for our military, as he is ordering that our troops serving overseas in war zones overseas are not to receive combat pay unless they are being shot at. A Marine who lives in Florida has just posted a note on Facebook which stated that he received a letter from his PayPal account that he would only be receiving his Hazard pay (Imminent Danger Pay) if he is actually in a hostile area and at risk of being Shot at.

So I just got a letter from MyPay (the way we get paid in the military), saying that I will only reason Combat Pay while deployed for the days that I take fire or am in a hostile area. Now, as an Infantry Marine, I’m constantly in a combat zone…it may not always be popping off, but for them to take that away from us is bullshit. Now, the aviation tech who sits on Camp Leatherneck, sure, I can see him not getting Combat Pay, but to take it away from the grunts, the ground pounders, the front line of defense…come on, Uncle Sam. You let the Liberals win a big one here… Florida Marine Corp Soldier (We are not posting his name for obvious reasons)

I thought the DEMs said, people join the Military because they're poor?
So now the DEMs will make sure they stay poor and cannot take care of their children?

Where the hell is Boehner on this, he controls the purse strings@!

this is not directed at anyone in particular, but plenty of military retirees and present day military voted for bamey...plenty of so called conservatives voted for him....plenty of Catholics voted for him...plenty of federal workers voted for him....

what can I say?......blacks didn't get him elected...leftists didn't get him elected...its US....we did it...not me....but some of you freepers out there....some of you vets...some of you retirees getting your pensions...

and now I get a laugh, or a cry, about how some are going to NOT vote at all...

yes, lets try to change things by letting the dictator have a few more years to completely take over...

Thanks for the real world explanation. I am terminally sympathetic toward our military. I have my own reason for that bias.

military people are NOT poor...their pay is usually more than a similar civilian job and the benefits far superior....

lets support the military but lets not make up stuff...

Thanks for the link. And I was previously told not to accept Pat Dollard without questioning. (I like Pat Dollard) In this case Pat Dollard is not the origin of the article, but one site that posted it.

Now, as far as Snopes.com being a “reliable” source for removing falsehoods, I would be very cautious about how much you rely on them. They are clearly in Obozo’s camp of liars.

There is no question that the Dems truly hate Patriotic Military people who have taken seriously their oath to Protect & Defend the Constitution. (not an oath to the Resident/President)

Not too long ago the skinny said that the wounded troops should pay for their own health insurance b/c he thought it was the patriotic thing to do.

This comes as no surprise.

Ask my daughter how messed up this decision will turn out to be. She just came off a unit that “doesn’t deploy”. She sure felt deployed when she was getting fired on in the ME. Now that unit will not get hazard pay because they “don’t deploy” according to Washington. This decision is also tied to tax-free status when in certain areas. I’m not sure how that will work now.

...Florida Marine Corp Soldier (We are not posting his name for obvious reasons)

1. It's Marine Corps. (That's where the term "Corpseman" comes from. Just ask Obama.)

2. A Marine would never call himself a soldier.

After having researched this, I must say I don’t have much of a problem with taxpayers only paying soldiers for time spent in an Imminent Danger area as opposed to paying for an entire month of IDP when time in the area is only one day. I do have questions regarding how and where ID areas are determined.

The article did not mention PayPal. It mentioned MyPay. Which is a link to the DFAS website. https://mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx

I used to use it routinely to verify my paycheck when I was still in the Navy. Especially if I filed a travel claim etc.

John Kerry: Sen. You could either work hard in school or “get stuck in Iraq.” (sic)

There are more examples of Dems saying people only join the military
because they cannot afford college. It was an idiotic BDS towards Bush for
taking us into Iraq.

FYI.

>I’m retired military. PayPal is NOT the vehicle for receiving military pay; comes through DFAS - Defense Finance and Accounting System. I believe his assertions need a second look.<
