An uninspiring Mitt Romney will impale the GOP and give Barack Obama 4 more years…

What is Mitt Romney doing in the Republican Party? (Although a better question might by why has the Republican Party strayed so far to the left that a guy like Mitt Romney could be its standard bearer…)

Everyone knows the story of Mitt Romney. He ran Bain Capital and financed a number of new businesses and helped rescue others. True, he and Bain failed a few times, but Bain Capital did what it was supposed to do, which is make money for its shareholders. At the end of the day Bain Capital was a net plus in that it actually produced prosperity (and jobs) for a significant number of people, and that accomplishment cannot be obviated simply because they could not rescue every firm they took a position in.

In 1994 Romney sought to unseat Ted Kennedy from the US Senate but lost as Kennedy pilloried him for lacking core (political) convictions. The fact that he had difficulty establishing a coherent message didn’t help. He lost badly. In 2002 he headed west to manage the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. By all accounts he did a tremendous job and accomplished the financial equivalent of a perfect game, making the Olympics profitable for the host city.

Then of course there was his stint as governor of one of the bluest states in the union, Massachusetts. Like Scott Brown, a Republican in Teddy Kennedy’s neighborhood can be expected to be a RINO, and Romney certainly fit the bill. On a variety of issues both social and economic Romney was… shall we say purple in his approach. But at the end of the day he was more conservative than his predecessor in one of America’s most liberal states.

Add to that the fact that he’s a good looking guy with a great family and he seems like a poster child for putting Barack Obama in the unemployment line. It’s claimed he’s the Republican who can deliver Massachusetts and other key states like as Pennsylvania, Florida and probably Ohio and Nevada.

The problem is, he won’t.

Newt will destroy 0bama in debates. Except that debates don't matter jack. If they did, George W. Bush would never have been president.

It’s like a repeat of 2008. Always its the RINOs that get nominated, and then no one votes for them.

He's not a conservative. He is barely a Republican. He will win comfortably. He is the syphiletic Camel that can get the job done.

Me either, LLS. I’ve drawn this line in the sand, with like minded Freepers like yourself.
Venture outside our world?
It’s a surreal whacko Twilight zone. Think GOP-E lashback. One of them even called me a traitor.
I wish I had kept my views to myself. Will from now on except with same fellow Conservatives.

You look that gop-e sumbich in the face and you tell him, “You have made an enemy... I will never donate another dime to your rancid party. If you do not apologize to me, I will work to destroy your golden goose”.

This is why I despise the gop just slightly less than the dims.

He’s a “district chair” and thinks that is synonomous with God. I told him that I am no longer beholden to him and his phony cronies who are destroying the GOP, that I wouldn’t vote for Romney if he were dog catcher.
He said he never wants to see or hear from me again. I said ‘ Good”..
Here’s my letter to Reince and a recent post.

To Reince Priebus:

I have been a lifelong Republican and am also a Conservative activist.
I have donated funds to the RNC and other GOP groups for years in addition to working all over the US to help elect Conservative/GOP candidates to office.

I will no longer give any contributions to the RNC nor support it in any way if Mitt Romney is our nominee.
He is not Conservative and more importantly, he has shown his true colors in Fla. with his negative campaigning.
He is a mean spirited and unlikable man...and he would govern with liberal ideas.
I believe that under his presidency, our country would continue to decline and American’s exceptionalism would be in as much danger as it is under Obama.
It will be a sad state of affairs if our party refuses to stay true to our founding fathers and Constitutional core.
Newt is my preference right now. I hope he wins tonight in Fla. despite the predictions.

For the first time in my adult voting life, I will do something that I never thought possible if Romney is our choice in Nov.
I will not vote for POTUS. If like minded Conservatives follow suit, then the GOP will be in for a huge wake up call, won’t it?
For now, I plan to channel my efforts locally and statewide, especially for Scott Walker, in my home state of Wisconsin.

Mary in Wisconsin

Pray for America.

What has happened to our voting electorate? We are now faced with the possibility of reelecting the worst President in the history of our nation OR supporting a flip flopping, narcissistic Massachusetts moderate who wrote the blueprint for Obamacare.

People ask me why I have decided NOT vote for Mitt Romney in November, be he our nominee. I will not vote for him because to do so would be for me to live the same lie that Mitt Romney has defined himself as. He is a disgrace to our party and to our country. The man has no scruples, no core message and above all, no honor. He ran the most underhanded, ruthless, power grabbing campaign in Fla. that I have ever witnessed. He has no concept of how to respectfully challenge opponents, nor did he try to discover what that would look like. Instead, he resorted to Chicago thuglike tactics to destroy his opponent taken right out of the playbook of Saul Alinsky: Focus, target, destroy. He is not the Conservative that we need to bring the fight to Obama like we neglected to do by nominating John McCain.. And where did that get us in 2008?

The only way to hold our heads high and know we aren’t selling ourselves short as Republicans is to stay true to our core values and principles by demanding nothing other than a principled Constitutional, Reaganesque Conservative who shares our values and like us, embraces the founding fathers doctrines that made America great. The contrast with Obama should be sharp. No Moderates/No Way. Pray for our Republic and may we always remember that we are One Nation, Under God.

If Romney is the GOP nominee, we will not need to “write in” someone who is not running or “stay home” as other disenchanted conservatives say they will do.

That would be a complete waste. If the GOP makes the -choice- to destroy itself (at the incessant urging of the Moderate Murdoch Media) by nominating Romney – there will ABSOLUTELY be a credible “third party” conservative who will run and give us a real choice.

It would be a candidate who could give the conservatives from the GOP and the Democrats who are disgusted with the Saboteur but don’t like their choices – someplace to go. In perilous times much like 1860, we could have another Lincoln situation.

I am free of the chains of GOP hi-jacking bondage after my 24 years of voting and it is refreshing. I like many conservatives am firmly resolved NOT to vote for the socialist Mitt Romney under any circumstances.

The GOP is forewarned of the rebellion and there is plenty of time for them, with their election PAC Fox to stop pimping Romney around the clock. If they chose not to be fair and balanced (as they chose not to in 2008) then the re-election of Barack Obama is on THEIR hands – not ours.

If romney is the nominee... I will write in Sarah Palin.

Dittos.

The anti-American ruling class establishment has chosen their opposing puppets, and I refuse to vote for either of them.

As long as I still have a choice, I'll vote for someone who isn't owned by the oligarchs, and who stands for the principles I believe in.

Why are Newt and Santorum “too conservative” when Barack Obam - the most liberal of liberals - is not “Too Liberal”

The democraps can go so far to the left they cannot even SEE the middle, and we are excoriated for trying to pick someone “far right”?

And Newt and Santorum are far from ‘far right’. Ron Paul might be.

I’m with you.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY.

If he is at the head of the ticket, I will vote- just not for him. I will vote ONLY for (R) for congressional seats.

I dont care if Obama is back as long as we get a VETO-PROOF Republican majority.

Then we can repeal obamacare right under his nose, and hold hearings to put him and his crew in jail.

If we have Romney and a Republican congress, they will go along with him because he has an R next to his name, even if he does not repeal Obamacare (and he WON’T - he clearly said on Hannity last week that he would repeal only “the more onerous parts of it”)

What can I add to that? Outstanding Mary... simply outstanding. Like I keep telling people... and Rush has told us of his first hand experiences... the republican party is not a Conservative party and the leadership despises us (Conservatives) and they are embarrassed by our mere presence... they do not want our attendance at any of their functions or the convention... but they want our money and they want our votes.

If romney is anointed by the powers that be... I will write in Sarah Palin as my presidential vote. I will vote for Conservatives down ticket. We in Mississippi are going to replace all of our rino bastards with true TEA Party conservatives... and we have them ready to run.

Speaking of Rush, I am very disappointed in his tepid comments lately. for ex: the first hour of his show today was devoted to talking about Clint Eastwood’s SB ad, if I’m not mistaken.

Levin is the ONLY Conservative talk show host is is staying true to his values and ripping Mitt nightly. We need to barage him with emails and other messages of support. For a while, he seemed tentative. But now he’s hearing from us bigtime and knows how furious we are.
It’s hard to find allies out there in the media. My only complaint with Mark has been that he repeatedly states that he will reluctantly back Romney if he is our only choice and vote for him too. But that could be change.
