Deception (military or political) includes manipulating, distorting, withholding, or falsifying evidence available to an opponent. History has shown that it is far easier to deceive by reinforcing an opponents existing preconceptions than it is to persuade him to change his mind. PSYOP personnel should encourage the opponent that the most likely way of achieving the objective will in fact be adopted (thereby diverting his attention from an alternative plan). Given two options, one of which reinforces our existing point of view, people are more likely to believe what they already suspect. Psychologically, they are gratified by evidence that confirms their preconceptions. People generally attach undue importance to evidence supporting their point of view and reject that which does not. PSYOP personnel should avoid deception that requires persuading a target audience of something it is not already predisposed to believe. -- U.S. Army Field Manual FM 33-1-1, Psychological Operations Techniques and Procedures, Appendix A, "Deception Operations."
Deception.
As the Democrats in last Thursday's hearing sang the song of "permanent director of the ATF," specifically, Andrew Traver, I mentioned to "authorized journalists" seated around me that,
a. The Democrats controlled the House, Senate and White House from 2009-2011 and thus could have had any director they wanted, and,
b. Traver was an anti-firearm rights ideologue whose confirmation hearing in the present time would be more than problematic, even though they still controlled the Senate and could assure success.
In other words, they could have had Traver at any time in the past three years and elected not to do it.
As I wrote here back in July 2010, when I broke the story of Traver's long-postponed selection to replace Ken Melson:
So let's sum up: Traver has been an ATF agent for 23 years, starting

Gone are the days of Watergate-like scandal and investigations. Everything the Regime does is illegal/tyrannical/dictatorial/anti-American. There is no governing body that could investigate fully and prosecute the Regime.
What are we to do?
I have always assumed that both Watergate and Iran-Contra occurred because neither Nixon or Reagan were very accepting of the RinoCrat Uniparty

I agree. Anyone who takes the time to study F&F, and the cover up, figures out pretty quickly that the operation was not a low level screw up at all. A whole bunch of federal agencies (ATF, DHS, DOJ, FBI, CIA, State Department and White House) worked in unison to insure the 2000 + assault weapons were delivered to the Sinaloan drug cartel.
So after you figure that out you start to ask yourself, Why would our government want to do this? Why would they want to promote mayhem and murder?
To answer this question you need to step back and look at other recent actions, and a few failed attempts, by Obama. Then you start to see the big picture.
Its all about:
1. Creating crisis
2. Restricting gun ownership in the USA
3. Destabilizing our border with Mexico
4. Eliminating personal freedom
5. Controlling and monitoring communication and travel
6. Increasing dependency on Middle East oil
7. Controlling the food supply
8. Controlling access to Health Care
9. Destroying the free enterprise system
10. Increasing overall poverty
Fast and Furious is one part of an overall plan to generate a much larger crisis. Obama and his cohorts want to hear the people to cry out for more government intervention: Help us, we are desperate. Take control if you must but give us what we need to survive.
This is happening all the time and it is not by accident. This is how the Obummer regime is working to create a socialist state.
Nobody needs a ‘tinfoil hat’ these days do they.
i been saying that since day one
