Mitt Romney Is Driving Others Away, Too
The Scratching Post ^ | February 3, 2012 | K T Cat

Posted on 02/03/2012 4:23:43 PM PST by greyfoxx39

Over at Hot Air, Wolf Howling penned a comment that perfectly sums up my feelings about the Florida primary.

I’ve spent the last few weeks watching Romney run the most intellectually dishonest campaign against Gingrich that I could imagine. Romney isn’t making the case that he has a better conservative pedigree, nor that his vision for America is superior or more conservative than Gingrich’s. He spent 17 million doing nothing but trying to delegitimize and demonize Gingrich with gross distortions of history. I haven’t seen anything like this since what the left did to Sarah Palin. And the last time anything like this occurred in the Republican Party, it was the cannibalization of Goldwater in 1964.

For the past two decades in which I have been politically informed and active, I have always believed that the single starkest difference between the left and the right was intellectual honesty. We on the right had it while those on the left dealt mostly in demagoguery and demonization. We on the right were ever willing to debate the facts, those on the left were ever willing to cherry pick the facts, distort the facts, and then use the race card or its many variants to end debate. To use the words of Bookworm Room: “Conservatives deal with facts and reach conclusions; liberals have conclusions and sell them as facts.” That illusion is now shattered.

At this point, I wouldn’t vote for Romney for dog catcher even if he was running in a three way race against Lenin and Marx. I will support Republican candidates for Congress and the Senate. But I could not, at this point, vote for any man as scurrilous and underhanded as Romney for President.

Yes the immediate past AG of FL is his campaign manager there. He is taking care of all the legal actions. The main problem is the feed they are giving to the MSM....FOLKS TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME. They are trying to play the Axelrod/Alinsky step of making us believe we’re losing and disheartening us.

I was married to a newspaper guy, I know how the media works. They’re so lazy and hardly ever write anything for themselves: Just type or cut and paste materials that are given to them.

There is no reason, that we sitting all around this country can’t unite here on FR and get the word we want out. Spam the MSM with materials that are written by freepers.Correctins of their distorted facts.

The liberals have been doing it for years....Networking to repeat the meme , the mantra they want folks to believe. Let’s beat them at their own game.

Jim, is there a backroom we can work out of?
Who wants to keep the ping list?
Who will help make/keep a contact list....email address of Major and minor “letter to the editors” Talking heads; bloggers etc/tweets/facebook etc.?

This is a call to arms.....as the Bible says gird your loins

I basically said same to some folks in THE PARTY this week.
They frothed at the mouth and almost went postal on me.

Freepers, we are going to have to steel ourselves for what’s coming between now and November. Who knew that we would have two foes to fight: Hussein and his brother, Bushy Brows on the one hand and add to that impressive duo the FORMERLY GRAND ol’party.
I’m glad Reagan isn’t here to see this mess.

Catherine, I have been trying to find out more on this..it has been rather hushed up in the msm. Have found confusing and mixed messages. Read that the chairman of the national gop said that since Fla waived half of their delegates they did not have to divide..heard differently from Newt saying the AG was looking into it. They seem to be playing “The Waiting Game” Maybe we should all write a letter of complaint to the National Republican Party

I’m in, hoosiermama.
I’m being told to get mad instead of sad.

Action is the only way to channel healthy anger and not let it fester inside of us.
So let’s get a plan. FREEPERS, front and center!! Man the torpedoes!
Tell me how I can help, hm.

I will not vote for Obama against Romney, but I will not vote for Romney.

hoosiermama, would be great if this was settled before super tuesday. Heard Priebus (current chair of the national republican party) say that since Fla waived half of their delegates by voting early the winner take all still applied. Would love to get to the bottom of this! it’s worse than fuzzy math.
I prefer to believe your post:)

I hope you will keep repeating this statement often, McG.

We all know about why we aren’t voting for the Massachusetts liberal but Freepers need to be aware that there are OTHER ways to help the Conservative causes as outlined by McGruff.

Hoosiermama: that’s another thing we can do. Like Levin, we can target Congressional and Senate races where decent Conservatives need our help. And we can use our resources to help them.

I would be willing to do help organize that: A candidate of the week? Freepers from those districts could keep us informed and do the groundwork so we can decide if they are worthy and then if they pass our test, find ways to support them. What do y’all think?

I’ve seen so many good suggestions for our guys here: what they coulda said or still can. The thoughtful comments from some of you here are SOOOO much more intelligent than anything I’ve read or heard from pundits, media, talk show hosts, editors.
They are all acting like a bunch a doofuses. DUMB AS BOXES O’ROCKS, I say. :-)

We are two steps ahead of the rest of ‘em, folks.
Let’s make use of our talents.

I’ve read your prior posts and you are definitely a Romneybot and you need a zot!

and the zot was called down and a romneybot incinerated by a moderator.

I found one earlier and alerted Jim but don’t know if that one is still there. I was just reading threads, and there they were, sticking out like a sore thumb.

If they just said they weren’t voting for Newt, that’s one thing, but saying absolute non true, nasty things, and calling him names, just ticks me off. There is no reason to do that. Then, when I see they are Romneybots, that’s the last straw.

Due to Gator telling me about Nerf guns, I ordered one and when it gets here, I’m shooting my TV every time I see Romney. Had to do that since I don’t have a zot gun for this forum.

Go Newt!

I’ll never vote for him either. If Obama loses, I’ll be happy. If Romney loses, I’ll be even happier.

Don't kid yourself. By not voting, you're doing just that.

Sorry, I dislike Romney (and the GOP elite) every bit as much as you, but this grab-your-marbles-and-stomp-away stuff has got to stop. This country can't survive four more years of Obama. First defeat Obama, THEN deal with the GOP establishment (not to mention the idiot voters who keep electing them).
