What are we to make of Newt’s win in South Carolina? Several things, I think...
1. Newt is a winner... 2. Newt is a fighter... 3. Newt can blow it...
There, [in South Carolina], in one night, and within the span of only one hour, we saw the two sides of Newt: We saw the good Newt who can win this thing and, in so doing, “fundamentally transform American politics,” as he would say.
But we also saw the bad Newt, the undisciplined and unfocused Newt: the Newt who too often tries to wing it and fails.
I’m rooting for the good Newt, but I fear the bad Newt.
Did I miss something? I only read the excerpt. Why the Zot?
I liked his speech. Don’t understand what the complaints are either.
I don’t have an existential aversion to occasional BP, as long as it isn’t a post a day.
Coulter was completely unhinged on Fox this morning. It is really quite simple give us the candidate that we want and we will be responsible to get him across the line. Do not foist someone on us that we do not want.
The zot was for either slamming Gingrich or pushing Romney. There has been a rash of zots. FR will not allow Romney to be pushed as a candidate.

Bachman (was) “Michelle Bachmann”

Palin (was) Palin, but also sometimes Sarah and had several nicknames.
But Gingrich is “Newt,”

The first name on your list, the one that begins with O, go back and check my past posts, see how many times I called him, what you said most people call him. I have plenty of other things that I call that thing, or I use the name he used to use BARRY SOETORO.
I usually call Romney Mittens
Not sure what I call Ron Paul, probably Ron Paul
People probably say Santorum because there were 2 Rick’s in the race. Same reason for the Perry and not Rick.
Maybe Michelle Bachman so as to no confuse who was being talked about because we have a big wookie in the WH named Michelle too.
Cain, because not many people want to say the name Herman, not very catchy.
Sarah is Sarah. No Palin is needed everyone knows who Sarah is!
Same with Newt. Everyone knows who that is no last name needed but I do think in normal conversation I sometimes use Newt and other times Gingrich and sometimes both depending on the age of the person I am speaking to.
If speaking to someone that I can tell isn’t into politics and seems a bit clueless then I always use first and last names of all of the above, EXCEPT the first one, then I always say Barry Soetoro and hope that they ask me who that is so I can tell them a few things. If they instantly recognize the name Barry Soetoro I watch their faces to see if they smile or frown. Then I know what side they are on. :)
I was still in bed around 6 am while my wife was getting ready for work, and picked up my Nook Color to check email and FR. I couldn’t believe the zot threads I’d been pinged to. I’d spend half the morning posting if I visited them all.
I think I had gone through 10-15 before I went to bed... Woke up, checked FR.. and I’ve never had a ping list so long before :O I think it took me about 3 hours just catching up on the pings..
Hopefully, the ones allowed back will be careful with their insults and whining (and I have to be careful not to get too excited and Zotted myself ;)).. the rest, good riddance... maybe it will be more family-like again sometime soon.

The author wrote his op-ed about the preconceived talking point that Newt-did-something-bad, and then he couldn't fill in the part about what Newt did.
It was late.
Newt hadn't done anything wrong.
Propagandists get sleepy.
He had a deadline to keep.
So he submitted his screed anyway.

I rarely call “Obama” by that name, either typing to talking, usually “Steaming Pile” at home, and while typing it can be 0bastard, 0bomba or 0h0m0 usually.
