Time has come for me to leave the chaos of FreeRepublic.
Over the past 13 years I always felt that FR was the home of Conservatives with core values that could not be compromised. This election cycle has shown me that I have been wrong in my assessment.
The lack of moral or intellectual commitment by many of the FR members has resulted in the end of my involvement.
I'm sure JR and many others are pleased but know that the early years were great experiences.
God Bless to all and enjoy the next 4 years of Obama.
Agreed + 2.
There are many elements of FR that I disagre with. But at least I speak up and voice my opinion.
To quit and surrender is indicative of a character flaw.
And from what I know... Marty has character. Or at least he is one.
See ya soon Marty...
Can I have your locker at the FR gym?
And if Newt doesn't play well outside of SC? Then what?
Wait! We need a candidate, what are you doing Saturday?
Have you found another "home" that pleases you more?
If so, what is it?
I've tried "The Right Reasons", but have found it wanting in some major respects.
Good luck to you....and sorry to see you go!
Buh bye.
I have not put all my money on any of the candidates because I don't think any are stellar, but I will vote for whoever gets the nod against Obama. That person with a GOP Congress will get much done whoever it is.
I'm lighting a grail-shaped beacon for our FRiend!
Oh, take a hike. Perry did what was best for defeating Romney and Obama. You could learn a lesson from him. As some others here could.
We are fighting a war against a communist and THIS is what we have to work with as foot soldiers???
Where are you going to go?
There is no other place.
I agree with the “weak opus” comments.
Just because your flawed candidate is losing out to another flawed candidate doesn’t mean that those who support the latter are compromising their principles any more than you did.
Remember that the most common definition for “true conservative” is “the candidate that I back” — the truth is that your “true conservative” is someone else’s “RINO”.
This is the first post I’ve seen by you. Are you sure you’re logged in?
So Perry’s campaign flopped, your mad and have decided to take your ball and go home? Seriously?
Even if everyone at FR devoted themselves to Perry, he’d still be withdrawing from the race and endorsing Newt today.
There is no way around his inability to communicate. I liked Perry too and hoped he would do well, but it became clear that he simply does not have the communication skills necessary for a national campaign. He may be able to get away with lackluster communications skills in Texas, but not nationally.
Of the remaining options, Newt is the best alternative - and he is the only one who has a chance of denying Romney the nomination. Is he perfect? Heck no. Newt is all kinds of flawed, but he is better than the others and actually has a shot at both winning the nomination and defeating Hussein.
You haven’t been here long enough to comprehend the entire message.
Well done Sir!
Why are you leaving? I am not following. Don’t succumb to the conquer and divide techniques used by the RATS to cause devisiveness among those who share common ground.
Yes they were, my how times have changed......adios amigo.
If you think I'm a fool for not voting for Bill Clinton so be it, good bye.
