As Michael Buffer, one of America's most famous ringside boxing announcers would say: "Let's get ready to rumble." Forget the "substantive" allegations of "flip-flops" on Amnesty for illegal aliens or single-payer health care, or even the less substantive accusations of "vulture capitalism." If you want real proof the campaign season is in full swing and that the poop (pun intended) is about to hit the fan, look no further than the recent resurrection of allegations of animal abuse against Mitt Romney.

Now hes torturing conservatives...
Weve been thrown up on the roof...
Hi, I'm Rusty. Mitt Romney is mean to dogs. Help me get my message out. |
Romney is so shallow that a rowboat wouldn’t float in his ocean. I have a chocolate lab and I couldn’t even begin to fathom treating her like Romney treated his dog.
Willard “Chainsaw Mitt” Romney may be a lot of things, but a dog lover he ain’t.
Now, if we could just find some “dog dirt” on Barry...
And after Romney hosed down the dog and the carrier did he strap it and the dog on top of the car again?
I wouldn’t underestimate this issue. To the average voter who is more concerned with the winner of American Idol than the next president, a lot of people’s #1 issue may be “he hates animals!”
Oh yeah, he hates them so much that they’ve had all sorts of pets throughout the years. Because he hates them.
Exactly lol.
Put oneself in the mind of the average voter and, we may think it’s stupid (it is), but “dog on top of car” is a huge issue for them.
Bingo! You are right on the money..This will not go over well..
Hauling a dog in a pet carrier on the roof of a car is no different than hauling livestock in the back of a pickup stock rack. People have become absolutely insane over animals. Obviously, they didn’t grow up in the country or on a farm.
Yep. They won’t react much to threats of socialized medicine but tell them something like this, and they’re up in arms over it.
These people are fanatics. Some of them won’t wear silk because it exploits the silkworm, or eat honey because it exploits the bees, or drink tequila because of the worm in the bottle. Their numbers are growing and they are influential out of proportion to their numbers.
But it's obvious we treat dogs differently; that is, as beloved pets, than animals who were raised to be slaughtered for food.
Given that half the people I know are “rabid” animal fanatics, I’m inclined to agree from direct observation. This is enough for many not to consider snippymcmittcare romney.
Hope we don’t run out of nets.
