TERRORIST AND ORGANIZED CRIME GROUPS IN THE. TRI-BORDER AREA ( TBA) OF SOUTH AMERICA.
Hizballah. Islamic terrorist groups have used the TBA for fund-raising, drug .... TBA for illicit activities such as smuggling, money laundering, and product piracy. .....
Ciudad del Este is an oasis for informants and spies; peddlers of contraband (largely cheap East Asian goods) and counterfeit products; traffickers in drugs, weapons, and humans (prostitutes, including women and children forced into prostitution); common criminals; mafia organizations; and undocumented Islamic terrorists. In Ciudad del Este, street merchants sell not only cheap trinkets and counterfeit products, but also items such as an AK-47 for US$375.
Despite its seedy appearance, Ciudad del Este is a world-class center of commerce in terms of cash transactions. Thanks to the presence of organized crime, the city’s retail economy ranked third worldwide—behind Hong Kong and Miami—in volume of cash transactions, peaking at Pedro Brieger and Enrique Herszkowich, “The Muslim Community of Argentina,”The Muslim World [Hartford],

A member of Hezbollah confined in a Viennese prison was observed running a sex trafficking ring means of his cell phone. Because the terrorist’s true identity was disguised through false documentation, the criminal actors who procured the women would not know that the trafficker provided funding for a terrorist organization.

The Militarization of Sex
The story of Hezbollah’s halal hookups.
BY HANIN GHADDAR | NOVEMBER 25, 2009

Today, it is also working to fulfill the sexual needs of its supporters, though a practice known as mutaa marriage.
Mutaa is a form of “temporary marriage” only acceptable within Shiite communities, one that allows couples to have religiously sanctioned sex for a limited period of time, without any commitments, and without the obligatory involvement of religious figures. In conservative Muslim societies known for their strict sense of propriety, mutaa offers an escape clause. The contract is very simple. The woman says: “I marry myself to you for [a specific period of time] and for [a specified dowry]” and the man says: “I accept.” The period can range between one hour and a year, and is subject to renewal. A Muslim woman can only marry a Muslim man, but a Muslim man can temporarily marry a Muslim, Christian, or Jewish woman, as long as she is a divorcée or a widow. However, those interviewed for this article confirmed that Hezbollah-the “Party of God”-has allowed the practice to spread to virgins or girls who have never married before, as long as the permission of her guardian (father or paternal grandfather) is obtained.

Temporary marriage has long been practiced by Shiites around the world. However, it has recently become more commonplace in Lebanon, notably within Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut’s southern suburbs and in southern Lebanon after the 2006 war with Israel,..

Hezbollah Using Prostitution (Muta) for Recruitment
[Nov. 16, 2011]
In the following video, the “Young Turks” seem convinced that Hezbollah invented “Muta” (temporary marriage). The broadcasters acknowledge the obvious, namely, that Muta is a form of prostitution. However, they don’t believe that Islam would ever allow such a practice.
Now for a healthy dose of reality. Both Sunnis and Shias agree that Muhammad allowed his followers to practice Muta. Shias generally believe that the practice is still permissible, while Sunnis typically claim that Muhammad eventually abrogated the practice.

What Sunni scholars fail to mention, however, is that even their most reliable sources are thoroughly inconsistent. Some Sunni ahadith state that Muhammad outlawed Muta, while others declare that the practice was banned by the Caliph Umar, not by Muhammad.

Indeed, according to a Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari (Sunni Islam’s most trusted collection of ahadith), Muta is justified by the Qur’an itself!

With this liberal trend that “radical Islam is not the problem,” al-Qaeda will be accepted... at the end.

State and Local Law Enforcement Response to Transnational Crime
by T Task Order

[National Criminal Justice Reference Service - April 2005] ...support for terrorism case and the (2) North Carolina Hezbollah tobacco smuggling case....
Based on our research we learned that there are at least two important issues to consider in identifying transnational crime. First, there are transnational crimes that might mask themselves as “regular” crimes. These are crimes that the police can use traditional investigative techniques to uncover. For example, cases of human trafficking may appear to be simply cases of prostitution, as opposed to victimization of human slaves. The police generally know where to go to find cases of prostitution. However, they may be less likely to realize that a transnational syndicate might be secretly operating the brothels and using the profits to fund terrorist training camps.

The Iranian Plot and the Star Wars bar scene : Foreign Intrigue Blog
Washington, Oct 13, 2011
[...]
Mike Braun, a former top DEA official, explained how terrorists and drug cartel members rub shoulders: "Think of the bar scene in the first Star Wars movie." These guys visit "the same shady bars, the same seedy hotels and the same sweaty brothels" – it’s where the "potpourri of global scum" congregates. That's where the Iranian operative went searching for a drug cartel hit team, he presumed.

Some are downplaying the terrorist-drug cartel links. But we know that Mahmoud Kourani – who according to court documents was a "member, fighter, recruiter and fundraiser for Hezbollah" – hooked up with human traffickers to be smuggled across the southern border. More recently, Mexican authorities arrested Jameel Nasr in Tijuana, Mexico. Reportedly, this Mexican national with family ties to Lebanon, was attempting to set up a Hezbollah network in Mexico and throughout the region. Just isolated cases?

Braun told us, "If terrorism experts believe for one minute that the operatives from these terrorist organizations and drug trafficking organizations, who are occupying the same space at the same time, are not developing relations, forming alliances and sharing lessons learned, then they are naive at best, or more likely, absolutely in the dark when it comes to understanding how the real underworld operates."
