Rick Perry says he's going on to campaign in Florida's Jan. 31 Republican presidential primary - no matter how he fares in South Carolina.

It seems the Texas meeting was done for show and a headline:
Santorum endorsers need to issue joint statement and quickly (not so cohesive)
I wonder if Romney is financing his campaign now?

Rick Perry appeals for slot on Virginia ballot "Texas Gov. Rick Perrys lawyers filed a motion with a federal appeals court Sunday, seeking to win him a place on the Republican presidential primary ballot in Virginia".....
Really? How do you come to that wondering point Einstein?
Lol ! Hilarious ! And Newt is sponsored by Ron Paul to help split the “semi-conservative” vote.
=^D
“There’s probably 60% of voters who haven’t made their mind up yet, a lot can happen in one week. We are asking people to give us a second look,” Perry said.
The Governor says he considers a win in South Carolina’s primary, “crucial.”
“I happen to think South Carolina will pick the nominee, so it’s incredibly important,” Perry said. “I’m the only candidate who isn’t a Wall Street insider or an insider from Washington.”
Perry stressed his record as Governor in creating over a million jobs under his terms. Texas has the 13th largest economy in the world.
“You judge me on my record, my father always told me, you want to know how a man will perform in his future, look at his past.’ I will put my past job creation record against anybody’s,” Perry said.
Perry left Georgetown for Myrtle Beach Saturday night, where he will be preparing for the Republican debate on Monday.
“I’m just asking the people of South Carolina to give me a second look. I’m not the best debater. I’m getting better every time, but the fact is we need a leader.”

I didn’t post the comment and I’m not Einstein but is is pretty obvious that if Perry drops out his supporters would move to Santorum and Gingrich. So Perry staying in the race helps Romney and hurts conservatives.
Perry: On to Florida
Romney: On to Easy Nomination
He is NOT a spoiler ...he doesn't have the momentum or votes to be one.
The real decision that needs to be made is between Gingrich and Santorum. They are the two who have the lion's share (almost all of it, apart from Perry's 5%) of the Conservative vote. It is between the two of them to decide who, once SC and FL is over, will need to leave and endorse the other. Those two are the ones 'spoiling' for each other because at this point Perry stopped being relevant weeks back. Even for the two Conservative front-runners there is a ticking clock. By FL conservative voters will start making their own shifts - endorsement or no endorsement. In the same way they moved from Perry. If Gingrich beats Santorum in SC and FL a good number of Santorum's supporters will shift to Gingrich. Same thing if Santorum beats Gingrich in SC and FL. Why? Because voters are not stupid - they may not necessarily be super geniuses (the media has really played a good game on people), but they are not stupid. They can see that unless support is directed to ONE Conservative candidate that the race will be lost.
The two leading Conservative candidates will need to make a decision once FL rolls over before they are made as unnecessary as Perry.
And as for those calling Perry a spoiler - that is unfair and unfortunate. His opportunity to bless or curse the race dried up weeks back. His ability to influence towards Romney or towards Santorum or towards Gingrich is no longer present. The 5% supporting him are his core. The real impact will come from Gingrich supporting Santorum, or from Santorum supporting Gingrich. Perry at this stage is a nice man with a good record in Texas and no real impact left in the race - whether he leaves or stays - as long as BOTH Gingrich and Santorum are in the race. It is between Gingrich and Santorum to decide who should coalesce the Conservative vote ...and if neither is man enough to do so it also doesn't matter. Come FL voters will make the decision themselves.
Dumb thing to say. Perry is a scrapper. He won't go down without a fight.
So far very little has happened in the race. At this point is is akin to saying who wins the World Series or Super Bowl after three pre-season games. We have had two yankee non-conservative pissant states and one open primary state before us. And we are supposed to say that they get to decide what the rest of the country does?
This process, especially the media part of it, is a crock. It allows the RNC and others to game the "game" if you will. We should not declare anyone the winner until this is a true winner. Up to that point anyone with the support and the grit to run should.
Perry holds first "debate" with Obama. Up close and personal. Right in the boy king's grill. Man-to-man. On the subject of the border and immigration.
“Perry: On to Florida...”
I’m not sure his strategy of writing off each state as they come up will get him the nomination, but it will CERTAINLY help Romney a lot.
I disagree. I think he is the best candidate with the best record. He is the only candidate who really wants smaller government. Mitt Romney will get elected because people allowed themselves to be lead by the msm. They are choosing the candidate for us, and the “conservatives” are going along with with a smile on their faces. We got President Obama because we were too lazy to look at his record. We reject Rick Perry because we are too lazy to look at his record. All we see is the superficial surface presented to us by the msm.
Perhaps I should have said, Romney ought to be financing Perry’s campaign considering that it is more useful to Romney than Perry at this point.
Selfish. Loser.
What do Perry folks believe Santorum should do if he comes in Third behind Gingrich and Romney?
It's very clear that Gingrich, Perry, Ron Paul and Santorum are NOT really running for president. They are only in this to help Romney get the nomination. Huntsman is just in it to make Romney look more conservative and thus help get Romney the nomination.
My only point is that the longer the weaker conservative candidates stay in the race, the more it helps Romney. That may be fine if you’re hoping to be his VP candidate, but if you’re a team player, trying to advance the conservative cause, it’s counter-productive at this point.
