In the last few days’ news has broken along with a videotape of four United States Marines urinating on some dead insurgents in Afghanistan. It is a little shocking to see just how quickly the American people are to throw our own to the wolves.In Vietnam there was a highly decorated Special Forces unit known simply as Tiger Force. Their job was to take the fight to the heart of the enemy and instill fear within them. They did this by scalping and removing dead enemies ears and wearing them like jewelry,
None of this is excusable behavior in polite society but ladies and gentlemen, where we are sending our Marines is not civilized. Never in the history of the United States have we sent our troop to a civilized place to wage war.
Although the methods and weapons of war have changed in the last century the one thing that hasn’t changed is the mental and spiritual toll that is exacted from each man who picks up a weapon for his country. Wars are just as gruesome today as they were in the fields of Europe in the 1940’s. In fact it is more so stressful today due to the lack of uniformed soldiers to fight. These cowards dress in civilian clothes and shoot at Marines and then go and hide amongst the populace using them as a shield.

These two men gave their lives protecting a downed pilot by dropping in heavily outnumbered and holding off the mob for quite some time. Their corpses were later dismembered and dragged through the streets in front of CNN cameras that captured it all.
Fast-forward about ten years to 2004. Four Blackwater security contractors were ambushed and then hung, burned and dismembered on camera. Also in the early days of the War on Terror there were numerous accounts of American civilians being kidnapped and executed via beheadings on film. The most famous of which is Daniel Pearl. This list could go on and on but in the interest of time we will just leave it at these examples.
Congressman Allen West commented on this topic recently and he also touched on these instances. He too asks where the concerns for these victims are? It is perplexing that American’s, most of whom have little knowledge of any of the events mentioned, look so judgmentally at those fighting in our place.
Congressman West left his statement with a very poignant quote. He said, “As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”
This is such a great quote because the man is right. War is hell and it is a terrible thing. What these men did is not excusable however nor is it overly punishable. The punishment suggested by Congressman West is more than adequate. Any more than that and it will become apparent these brave Marines are being sacrificed on the alter of political correctness.
The long and short of this issue is simple. These young Marines made a mistake. This mistake however doesn’t remove their honorable service to this country. These men should be dealt with and disciplined privately not publicly flogged by the nation that they fight and die to protect. No civilian is qualified to say what is right and wrong on the battlefield.
As far as I am concerned I stand by our Marines and I for one am glad to have them on our team. Poor judgment or not they still fight for me and this is what I fear we are losing sight of. It is odd that the Marine Corps motto would be so fitting but nonetheless to the Marines fighting and serving in the worst spots in the world, SEMPER FI Devil Dogs!

The outrage is ridiculous. However, the Marines knew this was against the rules. I think a hand slap is enough. Now because of the media, they will get a full Court’s Martial and will most likely be discharged from the Marine Corps. The media is insane. Of course even Fox News the conservative news channel is all over this too. Very disappointing.

Our military is being destroyed not by the enemy but by the PC politicians and the top brass who refuse to stand up for the good of the country and the force. The war in Afghanistan would be over today, the Taleeebahn marginalized out of existence if our troops would be allowed to wage war, not a PC scrum...
I pray for the families who have lost loved ones in this conflict because it is being fought with no will to win.
There wasn’t this much outrage from the leftist commie media when those Egyptian savages were raping, beating and urinating on that female reporter. Their priorities suck as well as their reporting.

Hey guys. In regards to the punishment of these Marines. I want to get a push together for everyone to write their Senator and Congressman if these Marines end up in a general Court Marshal.

These young marines made no “mistake”.
They did to the enemy what comes naturally in time of war.
The dead insurgents would have gleefully cut off the heads of the marines if they had had that opportunity. I will go further. The insurgents would have gleefully cut off the heads of the marines’ wives and children if they had had that opportunity, too.
I say “P— on ‘em and laugh”.
I do not condemn these marines.

Heard some jerk Marine who said he’d been in the sandbox, and a somewhat less strident Spec Ops guy along with him, defending the public “outrage” on Hannity’s radio show the other day. The one joker kept repeating “we’re better than that, we’re better than they are” and other such platitudes.
Well, if we were better than they are we’d be winning the war, and would have won all the wars we’ve consistently lost since WWII. Any little rag-tag group of uncivilized unsophisticates, armed with who knows what in some little Third World Hell Hole, seems to be able to defeat these kinder, gentler troops we’re turning out.
This nonsense, and the trial of the Marines currently underway, makes a clear distinction between the few real warriors we have left and the squeamish nation builders who run the show for us now. Give me Attila and his Huns and their tactics any day if we’re going to fight the War on Terror. Otherwise, let’s just stay home and feel good about ourselves.
