Care2.com email: Demand Cancer Cures Today

Posted on 01/12/2012 5:51:05 PM PST by matt04

Dear ,

Cancer research is underway all over the country, but it can take 20 years for actual effective treatments to come from research.

It's time we embrace modern technology and invest in cures for cancer today, not 20 years from now. »

Every day 1500 people die of cancer. Is this not dire enough for us to demand cures today?

The Gateway for Cancer Research is demanding cures today. They are working to speed research from the lab to the bedside and funding innovative research that is focused on discovering lifesaving treatments for today's cancer patients. This constitutes a major shift in cancer research.

It's time we changed the way cancer research is done. Please sign the pledge today, to demand cancer cures.

Thank you for taking action!

I didn't know it was possible to demand a cancer cure magically appear. The Care2 folks are insane.

maybe i’m just feeling cynical but i think 20% of the people in cancer resarch, cure, pink ribbon foundations etal would be disappointed if they found a cure because it would cost them their job and/or reason for living.
