As the article notes, social conservatives generally support smaller government and fiscal restraint. Those are the issues that generally drive party moderates and libertarians. In other words, social conservatives will (generally) cooperate to give libertarians and moderates what they want most. What I don't see is a willingness from moderates and libertarians to cooperate on social issues. For example, we're told to stop fighting about gay marriage and abortion, because only fiscal matters matter. We're even told there's a truce on social issues (a unilateral one apparently). If moderates truly want the big tent they so often harp about, then maybe they should start expanding it to the socon right instead of always trying to move left.

The IMO under reported story is where they found the 8 votes to produce that Iowa win, and is that the best they could do? They took quite a while to find them and even made a story about a truck delivering them in the middle of the night. Does anyone else find this story a bit fishy?
