"Rick Perry Will Not Depart From His Conservative Record or Path" - The Real Record, The Real Man
Musings of a Rick Perry supporter...
I dont think the American people know Gov. Rick Perry. He burst onto the national stage and seemed like a Texan, okay, a politician with some nerve, some courage, some outspokenness, who was taking on the sacred cows and telling it like it is. But the debates reversed that image...the early ones. Then there are the lies...oh so many, many MANY lies about him. Because of them, people might be forgiven for their confusion, for not knowing what to believe.
I thought about posing questions all of which start with, Who is said to have done this or that, but in fact they did so and so instead? -- to point out the usual points being used to confuse. For example:
Who is said to have been a Gore Democrat, but who in fact had, prior to Gore running in 1988, already voted twice for Ronald Reagan and was in fact one of the millions of Reagan Democrats?
Who did porn publisher Larry Flynt say he would pay the big bucks for information on concerning any woman that could step forward and prove she had had a sexual relationship with him, in order to smear a man who in fact married his childhood sweetheart after courting and waiting 16 years for her to say yes?
Who is said to be weak on the issue of border security and illegal immigration, but in fact has been endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and has been passed over for endorsement by Senator John Amnesty McCain in favor of Mitt Romney?
Who is known for saying that he found Christ at age 27, when his Christian upbringing collided with life and cemented in his being; that he was a childhood churchgoer at his mothers insistence when she told him, "Youre going to attend one of the two churchs here, it doesnt matter which one, but pick one...youre going?"
But you know, some people might not understand how he was raised to be of good moral character and that he didnt just suddenly jump up and become someone completely different. I know what hes talking about on the conversion, but the truth is he was raised on Bible stories and morality stories about making the right choices in life for the right reasons.
People deride not only him for having been a Democrat, they are deriding his parents, grandparents and all Texans, really. And he said of his dad, recently, that his dad was a WWII tailgunner who flew in 35 missions over Hitlers Germany in 1944. This cotton farmer was of the Greatest Generation and did us all proud. Rick said, ..it was by the grace of God that despite my dads dangerous missions, he returned home without so much as a scratch.
As we know, so many did NOT come home. And his dad risked everything to defend America, and wouldve died trying if that was to be his fate.
But they were Democrats, dont you know?! Scummy people.
Sorry to get worked up, but this kind of thing has kept people from truly knowing and understanding Rick Perry, and its straight from the Devils playbook. The Bible says of the Devil, he is a liar and the father of lies.
Remember the story of when his mom was sitting in the church pew and the preacher was delivering a social gospel sermon about all politicians being liars...social commentary instead of a Bible based message to the attendees...and she stood up and said, My son is the Governor of Texas, and he is not a liar? And, to the delight of the congregation, she said it again when the preacher continued, not heeding her fair warning and defense of her son.
Who is derided for being one of the cheerleaders at Texas A&M, but in fact held the singular title of Yell Leader, which was a special leadership position on campus?
Who is said to be dumb, but in fact made the rank of Eagle Scout (as has his son), graduated from Texas A&M, joined the Air Force, piloted a C-130 around the world and left with the rank of Captain?
Who is said to have spent his life as a politician in the public sector, but in fact spent 5 years in the Air Force and 8 years cotton farming on rented land, for a total of 13 career years, along with his formative boyhood years growing up on a West Texas farm?
The la raza ricky thing is to give the impression he is very chummy, very tight with la raza, that theyre like hand in glove, when at their invite, he gave them HIS point of view rather than pandering to their agenda.
Bilderberger...guess thats the new world order or the one world government people, right? And all he did was go once, at their invite, never went back, was never asked back, and I heard him joke...cant recall the venue... They must not have liked me.
There is so much spinning, half-truths and outright lies being put out about Rick Perry, that the mind boggles. His opponents cant diminish his record so they try to bury and distort it, along with his good character.
In some ways, Rick Perry is damaged because people dont have a good handle on WHO he really is. They didnt know him, nationally, except as the Texas governor who excels at bringing in jobs.
Perry has been so gung ho to have people see and understand what has happened in Texas, and what those same policies can do for America, that perhaps he missed a key factor, that before people can put their trust in him for this highest of offices, they need to know WHO he is.
I truly believe if the American people could know and understand Rick Perry, but for the voting, this election would be over. With this information, Americans would understand where he comes from, what shaped him and be very confident that as President of the United States, he will not depart from his life-long conservative record or path in service to his country.
Really? And even if so, what of it?
If your REALLY thought this was genuine or legitimate concern, you would have to support either Ron Paul or Mittens Romeny, since they are the only ones with previous experience running for President.
So which one is it for you? Or are you for the OTHER, non-Republican guy with prior experience running for President?

Bump!
So as not to post another article within the comment section of this thread, I will refer you to the following article on how Romans 13 applies to holding political office in our present time. The author does a good job summarizing what I would say to you in response to your comments/questions.

When and where did he guarantee this? In every debate where this issue came up, all he talked about were the soft fixes and all but blew off the idea of an actual, physical barrier.
He also is on record for financially supporting illegal immigrants. That is a fact.
You’d better have your guns loaded when you call me “woefully uninformed.”
I'm not a Paul supporter and certainly not a Romney supporter. But, both Gingrich and Santorum have been quite successful (particularly the latter) in their campaigns thus far, and I could vote for either easily.
Articulating your thoughts is a requirement for successfully running for the Presidency whether fair or not. The Governor has dug his own hole, not the media and not his campaign staff. So, to my point, what do you attribute his poor performance to?
That’s a truism form of statement, but that doesn’t make it apply to Governor Perry.
If you were to list his known lifestyle, his known upbringing and values, his known positions on cultural and economic issues, which many of us have listed, ad nauseum, you could NEVER show him to be a liberal.
We’re talking an entire life, an entire record, a man’s character.
If you narrow it to gardasil or TTC, for example, he listened to people who went to the mat with their objections. Had them in his office and heard them out. In the end, those things never happened. The straw man, the straw dog as Rush calls it, is not the point, the actual playout of events is the point, and not beating a dead horse to try making it deader than it is.
If Governor Perry is a liberal, words have absolutely no meaning. The word conservative has no meaning, either. All is meaningless drivel, if with his entire life and record he can be branded a liberal.
I am suspicious of those who try to brand a Reagan voter a liberal. A Southern Reagan voter a liberal. A Southern Reagan voter “Bible thumper”...I mean that kindly, a liberal. A military veteran, Southern, Reagan voter, Bible thumper a liberal.
An anti Federal power, states rights-er, a liberal.
I suspect the branders, not the Governor’s conservativism.
Oh bummer you cant remember names LOL I was sooooooo hoping that some of them were a few of the most offensive PDSers LOL
Locked and loaded. You are woefully and, apparently, willfully uninformed.
If you truly want to know, stay on Perry links and you will eventually know all.
If you want to snipe, we’ll ignore you.
One, you apparently know nothing whatsoever about the Texas border. Part of it is the Rio Grande River. A fence can’t be built there. Governor Perry is for a multi-faceted approach which would involve some fencing where it would be valuable, troops on the border, surveillance by air and other sophisticated methods. he’s outlined all this.
Debates don’t give one time to explain complicated issues but he has discussed this in many interviews on television and in many speeches.
He is not on record for financially supporting illegal immigrants. If you are talking about the in-state tuition program, gosh, I feel so weary.
That has been explained so many times. It is not financial support. It simply allows US born chldren of illegals to attend Texas colleges at the in-state tuition rate. They pay the same as any other Texan. Even the bastion of liberalism, the Dallas Morning News said this is a benefit to colleges as they get more tuition.
If you mean that native born children of illegals are eligible for certain welfare benefits, that is a national law. I could discuss this more fully with you if you have a genuine interest.
Nothing to brag about MrEdd if you’re consistently wrong.
The TTC has been discussed at length here. There are varying opinions on it. It was not the horrible thing some people think, but that’s a matter of opinion.
Anyway, it never happened. If you want to hold a grudge about that, okay, but I wouldn’t brag about it.
So much ignorance, so little time.
Whether it was Jack Wheeler or that morning run in Iowa or relaxing at Red’s Range, sounds like he has decided to grind it out. I believe it will take a grinder to defeat Romney and end Obama’s reign.
Governor Perry didn't "all but blow off the idea of an actual physical border." He supports a fence where it makes sense and is feasible in addition to technology and boots on the ground.
Those who believe we can fence the Texas border with Mexico simply do not understand the logistics of our border.
A fence along the Texas portion of the border is not feasible. We have the Rio Grand as our border. The official border runs straight down the middle of the river.
We cant build a fence on the Mexican side of the Rio because its not our property and we cant maintain it. Putting a fence on our side of the Rio cedes land and water to Mexico. The Rio is an important water source for agriculture down there.
That is why Perry does not support/promote a fence along every inch of the border. A fence along other than the Texas border can be done - and Perry does support that.
He also is on record for financially supporting illegal immigrants. That is a fact.
No, that isn't a fact.
Perry supports in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants in Texas. The Texas legislature passed a veto-proof bill which Perry signed. He said doing so was the right thing for Texas. The key words there being "for Texas."
Perry is a proponent of the10th Amendment. As POTUS he would secure the border, but he believes it is a state's right to decide how to deal with illegals already within its jurisdiction, whether that is by deporting every single one or integrating some into society as productive individuals.
His personal beliefs reflect that he does not support financially supporting illegals as you suggested. In fact, that is what he wants to avoid - scores of illegals on the public dole. He believes we should provide those students the ability to obtain an education - for which they must pay - so they can better themselves and contribute to the Texas economy. He wouldn't push such a policy at the federal level as POTUS because he believes the decision belongs to the states. He will honor a state's decision to deport illegals and faithfully execute federal immigration law.
This is a completely ridiculous statement. It can't be build in the river? It can't be build right off of it? What about 100m inland? 200m? A mile? Weak B.S.
It is not financial support. It simply allows US born chldren of illegals to attend Texas colleges at the in-state tuition rate.
These statements are contradictory. I'm a citizen of WA state. Can I get in-state tuition in TX? No? I'm the child of illegal aliens. Can I get in-state tuition now? Hmmm....
Even the bastion of liberalism, the Dallas Morning News said this is a benefit to colleges as they get more tuition.
A liberal newspaper likes taxpayer money being spent to offset the costs of illegal aliens? Color me shocked.
Look, Perry might be a great candidate, but I get really annoyed at the hero worship when he hasn't earned it. For all we know, TX is in great shape b/c it's legislature meets so infrequently. He deserves scrutiny, not cheerleaders, as is true for all of the candidates.
Plus, with the whole Gardasil debacle, can we REALLY trust him to dump ObamaCare? Maybe we can, but I'm not convinced. Romney talks a big game about killing ObamaCare, too, and I don't believe a word he says.
There has been some fence built in Texas by the feds, and it put eight US houses on the wrong side.
_____________________________________________________
The Homeland Security Department last year put up a tall steel barrier across the fields from Taylor’s home. The government calls it the border fence, but it was erected about a quarter-mile north of the Rio Grande, leaving Taylor’s home between the fence and the river. Her two acres now lie on a strip of land that isn’t Mexico but doesn’t really seem like the United States either.
The government doesn’t keep count, but Taylor and other residents think there are about eight houses stranded on the other side of the fence.
“It’s a no man’s land,” Taylor said. “They said they were going to build a fence to protect all the people. We were just lost in the draw.”
When the Homeland Security Department began its Southwest border buildup four years ago, erecting barriers seemed a straightforward enough proposition. The international boundary is ruler-straight for hundreds of miles from California to New Mexico, and planners laid the fencing down right on the border, traversing deserts, mountains and valleys.
But here, where the border’s eastern edge meets the Gulf of Mexico, the urgency of national security met headlong with geographical reality. The Rio Grande twists through Brownsville and surrounding areas, and planners had to avoid building on the flood plain. So the barriers in some places went up more than a mile from the river.

Must be why Sheriff Joe Arpaio endorsed him.
Or let me put it this way, as the writer of this email put it:
Who is SAID to be weak on border security, but has been endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and passed over for endorsement by Senator John “Amnesty” McCain in favor of Mitt Romney.
CW has all the cybergoods on what Perry has done for border security and nailing the Feds for not securing it, and what his program his for securing it, that he would implement as President as his hand comes off the Bible.
But beyond that, he has an entire life and record from birth to early 60s, and if that is the record of a liberal, words have no meaning.
Direct you to my post #87, where that point is nailed.
My suspicion is towards those who would brand this man’s life, values and issue positions, “liberal”.
My suspicion is not towards Governor Perry’s Conservativism.
How many liberals are there who voted Reagan, who are Southerners, who are military veterans and who are Bible thumpers?
For your benefit, I ask you, how many liberals are as pro gun as the Governor, who would carry a pistol while running, and whip it out to shoot a coyote because he feared for his running buddy, a puppy?
Or would sign the bill that defunded Planned Parenthood in Texas?
Or sign the Sonogram bill?
Or sign voter picture ID?
Or fight the EPA?
Or fight Obamacare?
Or diss Global Warming?
Or personally hand Obama a letter asking him why his request for Federal border help was being igored, while showing up uninvited to do it?
The list is long.....................................................................................................................veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy long.
I think the writer of this piece nails the problem.
For whatever reasons, certain people do not want Americans to know who Rick Perry is, so they try everything in their power to bury it.
I like your posts, but a state can’t deport anybody.
They can choose to pass certain laws dealing with illegal immigrant issues within their states, but they can only call ICE about detaining and deporting illegals.
How’s that fence working out in San Diego? A fence is totally useless without sufficient ground patrol and surveillance technologies. Start with the boots on the ground and aerial assets, build barriers where needed most, adjust accordingly.
A fence along the entire border would take years and years to complete, we can’t wait that long. Perry says he will have the border sealed in 1 year. I believe that he would be the one to get it done.
Pain drugs and fatigue relating to his back surgery in July. Now healed and off the pain drugs. I think Perry is due to be the next "comeback kid" in this race.
