All I'm hearing from those-who-like-to-tell-us-how-to-vote (MSM/GOP establishment/Ann Coulter) this week is how Romney is "feeling confident" while Rick Santorum is soaring
Yes, MSM/Left know perfectly well that this is the flakiest GOP primary electorate in history -and Santorum not even 10% as brutally-vetted/slandered as Bachmann, Cain, and Gingrich have been: might be good to consider at this point why some are trying to make so much hay of his sudden rise when they without fail labeled all other candidates' previous surges 'unlikely to last'... then did their damndest to ensure it all went to script.
Unsurprisingly, Santorum -who nearly won Iowa by merit of being the last conservative nobody bothered to attack- is benefiting from increased (read 'any') exposure, enjoying at long last a bump in the polls. Liberals are loving it right along with Rick, as they know he will never be president... and their preference -Mittens of Massachusetts- will undoubtedly do the least damage to the far-Left's legislative 'progress' of the last three years, not repealing ObamaCare, etc- and thus legitimizing the vile Obammunist era forever. If you could force-feed Romney a truth-serum and ask him who he'd prefer to compete with going down the stretch... I think we all know it's not Gingrich.
But if you're as concerned about defeating Obama as I am, it's unsettling to see people flock overnight to an unaccomplished, unimpressive candidate who was unable to gather more than a smidgeon of support until all more appealing alternatives were damaged in ruthless media/PAC assaults. Yes, there's a reason Santorum was almost-completely ignored for all of 2011, and voters in November's general would surely be just as underwhelmed as have been most Republicans- right up until last week, anyway.
The reality?
Mittens has jumped out-front nationally by a few points again, too... but while studying the Republican primary schedule, I found a sampling of the most recent polls in some key upcoming primary/caucus states eye-opening.
Granted, there's certain to be some movement in the wake of Iowa and on the eve of an almost-certain Romney win in NH... but just get a load of some of these margins from the latest- available polling- sure doesn't look anything like the picture painted by Newt's insiduous opponents...

IMHO it would serve conservatives well to realize they're being manipulated by the Left, MSM, and Romney-ite RINO wing of the party... those attacking Gingrich fear him for the most base, self-serving reasons- consider the source of the jive you're hearing and think for yourself about who's the most qualified and skilled to debate and defeat Barrack Hussein Obama.
Only Newt Gingrich has the encyclopedic recall of historical/political facts that can put serial-prevaricator Obama -a man who's whole gig is based on b&%#$ing you- back on his heels for all to see.
Newt's powerful appeal to Reaganite conservatives coast-to-coast is what keeps Obama, the MSM/Left, and GOP old-guard up at night -not Rick Santorum-... small wonder they don't like to talk about it.

As much as I hate to say it, it is looking like conservatives should start backing Newt as their candidate of unfortunate choice, if they really want Obama gone.

If you haven’t seen this 15 minute video yet: “Why Is Newt So ANGRY??”, please take the time to click on the link above and give it a “look-see”. Jim-Rob posted it in News-Activism yesterday as a “Must See”.
IMHO, 15 minutes well spent.

I reached this conclusion when Palin demurred and Bachmann then Perry fell apart... time to get real, imo
Art Laffer’s endorsement and Newt’s desire to bring John Bolton on board at State sealed the deal...

I have always liked Newt. I thought he was unelectable, but now I’m not so sure. If he gains the nomination, we will find out what this country is made of because I have no doubt he will not cave like McCain did and act like running for president was just another civics lesson. No perfect candidate exists and I have been going back and forth over these few months, so I’m going with the smartest and most tenacious. That is not to say I wouldn’t support Perry or Santorum, I would in a heartbeat in a one-on-one with The One.

I can agree with this but there has to be more to choosing a president than debating skills. Record has to account for something.

Me, too, but we need to let this process play itself out. It’s just beginning. There can be many unexpected twists and turns.
To: Conservativegreatgrandma
Oh, by all means, as long as they’re ‘natural’ and not ‘hacked’ twist and turns.
It’s time for party unity against Mittens. If the rats can do it, so can we.
