Bible prophesy has both its defenders and detractors and the words in the Old Testament Book of Isaiah are no different.

The bible is such a straight shooter :).
I think that's a reference to the blogpimps at Examiner.
[Is the Book of Isaiah referring to the United States in Chapter 1:4 with the words: Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers and in 1:5 saying Why should you be stricken anymore? Ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint.]
Isaiah the prophet of the Creator God of Israel was refering to the nation Israel whom God had chosen to be His beloved people but who rebelled and so the one and only God condemned them to suffer doubley for rejecting Jesus Christ the Messiah.
The Old Testament principles apply to modern times however and now all nations are under the rule of Jesus Christ and suffer or prosper according to their faith of Christ and doing His will.
So we see America dying on the vine for their arrogance and sin against the Christ of God . “Be sure your sins will find you out” is also an old testament verse that applys to new testament times.
If you belive God and His Christ, that is. However, ignorance of the law does not make sin justifiable.
