With less than 48 hours until Iowans kick off the GOP caucuses, a crowd of California lawmakers have joined Steve Forbes, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and other supporters making a final push for Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
California Assemblymembers Dan Logue, Shannon Grove, Brian Jones and Curt Hagman have all hit the ground in the Hawkeye State Iowa Monday, ready for duty.
Logue, in a phone interview, just told us that “Iowa is going to do well for Perry — and this is just the first step of many steps.”

Perry has run one of the worst campaigns in recent history. He’s a joke of a candidate with a joke of a campaign. He’s going nowhere. You know it, I know it and anyone with a modicum of sense knows it.

I swear I’ve never seen such a passel of fools downright scared of growth, wealth, freedom, strength and gutting government, especially where it kills the entrepreneurial spirit.

I have spent 21 years with the Department of the Army spending most of September 30 in the office past midnight receiving incoming funds, committing and recording obligations that get barracks built or painted and upgraded, latrines repaired and DFACs built, etc, etc. Those quality of life issues that seem to be at the bottom of the spending priority lists. Rick Perry vs the Nativists The anti-immigrant movement is not a big fan of Rick Perry. In fact, presidential hopeful is rapidly turning into public enemy number one for his stance on immigration.
Perry’s comments during the recent debates have caused an uproar within the anti-immigrant movement, with major players Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), and NumbersUSA all publically condemning Perry for his views on immigration.
William Gheen of the anti-immigrant group American for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) has also attacked Perry on his immigration policies, issuing a press release after the last debate saying “Rick Perry is finished.”
Over the past week or so, Perry’s campaign decided to fight back against the anti-immigrant groups. First, Perry’s campaign responded to a memo written by Steven Camarota of CIS where he claimed that most of the jobs the Perry created in Texas during his time as governor were given to immigrants. A Perry campaign worker, Ray Sullivan, responded to Camarota’s memo stating that CIS’s numbers were, “really off base and wrong.”
This is not the first time CIS has been accused of manipulating numbers for its reports, which always conclude, whether the topic be ENVIRONMENT or economy, with the same message: immigrants are to blame.
Being called a commie is nothing. Since August, I’ve been called a child molester (twice), a lesbo and the very worst: a woman who liked men who wore Dippity-Do in their hair. What a silly season!
