Former Iowa Caucuses-winner Mike Huckabee apparently wants to spend his post-Christmas days deleting hate mail from his inbox. In an interview with Fox News Sundays Chris Wallace, Huckabee delivered a fairly blistering assessment of Iowa frontrunner Rep. Ron Paul and his fanatical believers.
As if pissing off the Ronulans wasnt enough, Huckabee denounced his partys candidates for being too mean to President Obama, whom he called a decent, patriotic American.
Wallace began by trying to suck Huckabee into his own feud with Ron Paul fans, asking if a win by the Texas congressman would discredit the Iowa Caucuses. The former Arkansas Governor obliged Wallace, flatly declaring that Ron Paul is not going to be elected president.
His views on foreign policy, Huckabee said, are so much an anathema to Republicans and Democrats and what I call middle of the road people. He has a core of fanatical believers, and they dont represent mainstream Americans. It is not okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon.
Unless I missed something, though, Ron Paul didnt say it was okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. There are fair arguments to be had over what Paul actually did say, which was that the US shouldnt use military force to preempt Irans acquisition of such a weapon, but Huckabees remarks were an unfair distortion of Pauls position.
Asked whether he second-guessed himself over his decision not to run for president, Huckabee really went for it. Republicans cant decide what they want to be when they grow up, he said, adding, I know they want to beat Obama, but in the process, they want to tear each other up so much, they want to savage each other so much that it will be difficult to beat Obama.
If I ran, Huckabee continued, it would be because I wanted to bring some ideas to the race, but I realize that will not be the focus. It is how mean can a person be.
I dont want to savage Barack Obama, he said, later adding, I think hes a decent, patriotic American. He loves america different than me, but I dont doubt he loves America.
It should be noted that Huckabee wasnt always on such a high road where President Obama is concerned. I guess its easier to be nice from the sidelines.
Heres the clip, from Fox News Sunday:
It was always clear to me.
Mike Huckabee channels John Judas McCain.
I’m not surprised in the least.
I am now for Paul. Seeing those attacking him most speaks volumes. >>>
This quote from Huckaboo just now put you over the edge, huh?
I’m SOOOOO glad that weasel didn’t get the nomination in 2008. Of course, McCain was not better in any way...
;>(
Good luck with that, Paulbot.
Most of what I read that was in the newsletter seemed pretty accurate.
But BOTH were 10x better than Willard Flopney.
Of course it was to Paulbots.
Compared to VAT TAX/Mandate Romney or Fanny/Freddy/Mandate/Carbon Cap Newt - I prefer Paul of the three
Huckabee:
You batShiite Cut huh razeeee
I think Barry loves America when it's bent over and has assumed the position.
Don't have such high regard for your fellow Freepers, I see. You know that fellow's not well-liked here.
Put it this way “Paul is soft on Iran ~ wouldn’t stop nukes”.
What else would you expect from an ignorant peckerwood.
I cringe at RP statements on many issues. However, where he is right, it makes up for it, especially considering bs from newt and Romney.
Hey, Huckster, Obama PROMOTES baby killing, you sicko.
Time was I recall anytime PRESIDENT Obama was on foreign soil, he had no positive words about America (except, “well all that’s different ‘cause I’m the president now...”).
His wife was never proud of this country in her adult life until they started to Occupy the White House.
None of that passes a patriotism “smell test”.
Typical of RINO Huckafeller.
