The Republican Jewish Coalition will host a candidate forum on Wednesday. N.J. Gov. Chris Christie will give the keynote speech and all of the major contenders are reportedly confirmed to attend, but one: Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.
Ron would be happy to speak to their group, but he was not invited, spokesman Jesse Benton told Capital Hill, via email. We called to ask if he could speak, and they said he was not welcome.

Gee, I don’t know why they wouldn’t invite him...
Hey Ron; 3 words for you:
skunk
Garden Party
I wouldn’t invite him, either. Ron Paul is not invited to my birthday party is July because Libertarians give me the creeps.
What does this dope think the Jews are going to do, accept his pro Iranian anti Israel nonsense? The fact that Paul is groveling to attend this event is surprising.
Some Republicans don’t think we’re electing the President of Israel in November 2012. Others think we are. That forum is a forum for the second group.
It’s a private group - they don’t have to invite anyone - that’s a good thing. Something conservatives believe in... like FreeRepublic.
Inviting RP to your party would be like inviting your undertaker.
Absolutely, people who care as much about Israel as the USA don’t seem to like Ron Paul.
Freedom is something conservatives believe in... some people are left out. Happens.
Your term, not his.
Any polite person would inquire, because there could have been an oversight, or they may have changed their minds, but simply asking is hardly "groveling".
Right. They have a forum about who cares about making Israel safe. In their minds, Israel comes first. And they have a lot of choices of candidates who seem to agree with that.
I’m personally more of a USA guy, but there are a lot of Israel firsters out there, and they should be able to have their own debate or forum or whatever, and pick their own candidates to be there or whatever.
As he should be.
Apparently Ron Paul hasn’t gotten the memo that Israel has been the special country since the British gave Palestine to Lord Rothschild in the Balfour Declaration.
Since most Jews are democrats ... who cares?..
Not all but most.. they tend to love the ones that despise them..
Jews must be possessed by the same demons Blacks are..
Yes, there are very, very few Jews in the Republican party. However most Republicans never ever say anything that might seem anti Israel.
I don’t want to elect a president of Israel either in November 2012. However, it would be nice if we could elect someone who could at least comprehend Israel’s regional and global concerns.
It would also be nice if they could grasp that the enemies of Israel are to a one our enemies as well.
Paul isn’t much better than Obama on these fronts, if any at all.
The real question is why would he want to go? He has repeatedly slammed Israel and promoted Islam and Islamic countries. I seriously wonder whether or not he (Like Carter) receives funding from ME.
I like him on things Constitutional and Fiscal but he is a nightmare when it comes to foreign policy. The only difference between him and O (on Israel) is that he says what he thinks and means. I laud him for his honesty even If I find it indicative of someone I could only support if it was him or O.
These Jews are hosting a Republican event. I would conclude by that they are not Democrats.
Can’t agree with this choice except to say that being a private group, it’s their right (something that RP would undoubtedly agree with).
Nonetheless it’s not by silencing the number 3 or perhaps number 2 in the polls that you defeat him, it’s by debunking him with old fashioned argument, facts, talking points, rhetoric and all the rest. Why should American Jews not wish to debunk / defeat / outsmart / out-savvy Ron Paul’s position on foreign entanglements? All the more seeing as he’s been climbing in the polls? What is this ostrich head in the sand strategy?
Oy Veh - Ron Paul is not gonna go away! He’s not. And frankly for those not of the Jewish persuasion, it would’ve been very interesting, instructive and illuminating to see him answer the tough questions concerning Israel / Iran.
Since when does debate mean to endorse? This is Meshugena!
I like most of the TV debates I see on TV. I thrilled - for example - at seeing Newt’s comeback to RP about terrorism vis-a-vis the undeniable curtailment of rights.
