On Monday, NewsBusters broke a story about Washington Post blogger Aaron Blake using Twitter to dig up dirt on Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
On Tuesday, the former House Speaker spoke to St. Louis radio host and Big Journalism editor Dana Loesch about this saying, "Its a little sad to see a paper the quality of the Washington Post stoop to...the National Enquirer approach to life" adding they "would rather worry about rumors about conservatives than facts about the President" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Newt..a man of steel with courage and the ability to slam them back. Watch him during the next debate on Dec 10th.
Hey old buddy!
Yeah, but Newt is far more adroit than she is.
Remember all those years that so many of us wanted Bush to come out and fight, but he wouldn’t?
Those days are gone...Newt’s a fighter, he has the courage needed for the job.
Go Newt Go.........
Rip their sorry asses to shreds...makes great confetti for New Year’s Eve.
good for him, it is time for ALL THE GOP to go after the media and tell them to do their job and look into zero’s past for a change.
“GINGRICH: I wish they would crowd-source to discover what he did at Columbia University, and I wish they would crowd-source to figure out what he did with Saul Alinskys ideas on the South Side of Chicago.
GINGRICH: Nobodys ever explored exactly, the community organizer did not mean boys and girls clubs. It meant Saul Alinsky radicalism.”
More of this please.
I wouldn’t be thrilled to have Newt as our candidate, but I at least would be satisfied, unlike in 2008.
He may not have a great personality, but we shouldn’t elect candidates based on how big their cult of personality is.
“I agree - say what you will about Newt... but he is the only one with the balls to hit back hard... and fast. And, I finally wont have to watch debates with while holding my breath, praying for good responses.”
Not a Newt fan but 100% agree.
A smart mouth is one thing. A smart mouth with a brain and an unmatched grasp on every issue every time is phenominal. Throw in the political experience on the battle field, the conservative achievements of lasting national significance, all in one candidate, and it makes Newt VERY dangerous to the Bamster and certainly to Romney.
There's a major difference, Onyx. Sarah Palin has principles.
Indeed and all the smears and lies against her were precisely that:
vile smears and vicious lies.
And she's a real, outside the Beltway conservative.
I gotta say, most every candidate requires a small army of paid handlers tossing them the one liners, putting together their brain, so they can properly tweet with a splash, or to make some guest column sound edgy, or appear with a one liner or two. Newt will never have to spend a dime for a brain and a prayer to present his case. Is there a question he can’t answer and with more background than the goofy questioner? And he doesn’t harrangue with tired old lines from middle school, like “lamestream media”. He somehow elevates the arguement with a full frontal verbal assault that diassects the media behaviour and hands them their head. Palin, Newt? I believe they are from two different intellectual universes with absolutely nothing in common.
The Washington Post isn't a quality paper, Newt. This is what they always do.
I disagree. The OWS protesters have guaranteed that Obama’s community organizing past will come up again and again in this election season.
Buy stock in popcorn. 2012 is the year Obama gets vetted.
Newt is OUR Gen Patton:)
Me too. I think he's the smartest, most knowledgeable presidential candidate in two centuries. Might be overstating it a bit, I don't know... But, man, he's good on his feet.
He's perfectly capable of justifying any well thought out conservative position in the book -- on the fly.
Don't know why he apparently has this crazy politically correct inclination to blurt out things every once in a while that are meant to appease the left, when he knows they'll never be appeased. He could just as easily reduce them to jelly with a stinging comment like the one in this article.
I wish he would just give up on the RINO crap and start believing in himself and in the conservative movement. It's like he's always hedging his bets.
It is apparent to me, as of late, that Newt would be looking for a Black Conservative to run with him if he were the nominee. Gauging by his respect and friendship with Herman Cain, his comments to Alan West and West not discounting the possibility and again with telling Rep. Tim Scott he was on the short list, this may very well be what we can see.
For Herman, I would not see it as his age would not be conducive to a followup run if Newt were to win and be re-elected. But I would suspect that Newt already has plans for Cain in his possible administration.
For Alan West, I think he would be best to clean up the Pentagon seeing he was a victim of the PC environment running rampant there but he would make a wonderful VP.
Tim Scott could possibly be the best as he is young, relatively, and he is so conservative that joining the Congressional Black Caucus would not be in his best interests.
With Newt, one never feels the need to hold their breath and shut their eyes and be rigidly frozen in place, wondering if he will chew his own foot off, or be a bore with the same tired old line. On the other hand, one might feel hold their breath, shut their eyes and freeze for the guy Newt is about to demolish. LOL!
