Good Bye to A&M!
“I like the Baylor team. I liked Baylor better before Ken Starr got himself all involved!
http://blog.chron.com/sportsjustice/2011/10/why-isnt-baylor-president-ken-starr-speaking-out-against-west-virginia-if-he-doesnt-people-might-just-might-see-him-as-a-phony-blowhard/"
Please don’t use that left wing rag as a source for anything. They hate EVERYTHING that is conservative. Even their business editor is a leftwing idiot.
“So quit your typical Aggie whining about blaming the refs for your sad swan song.”
While I did not go to tonight’s game in College Station, I have been to many UT v. A&M games in College Station. In all my times of going to games there, I have never had an Aggie tell me it was a good game, never had an Aggle offer me a drink. I have had Aggies yell things are me and my wife.
Here in Austin at our tailgates, we invite visiting fans to our pre-game party, offer them beer and brisket and shake their hands. And almost every tailgate party in Austin will do the exact same thing for Huskers, Bears, Jayhawks, Cowboys or Aggies.
Aggies have never offered such hospitality.
Ping!
“And almost every tailgate party in Austin will do the exact same thing for Huskers, Bears, Jayhawks, Cowboys or Aggies.

Haha no way does almost every tailgate party in Austin do the same... You must be a nice person for feeding strangers but I was not treated that way at all in Austin (I had your experience in College Station). I’m sorry that you didn’t receive Aggie hospitality either. There are the good and the bad in both groups, unfortunately.
And last night was a good game! Wish it had gone the other way though. At least we will still have women’s basketball :) whoop.
The revenue shared has to do with the contract for tv rights for the conference. So it was split evenly among the members equally. The revenue Texas makes on it’s stadium, beverages and other Texas gear they keep. the Longhorn network was slated to have clauses that other Big 12 teams couldn’t be on network/cable tv competing with games on the Longhorn network. ESPN was going to essentially freeze out any other team from being on cable if it competed with t.u.
Just didn’t make sense for Aggies and I hope the Longhorn network works out. I just don’t see a big market for games like the UT v. Sam Houston State basketball game, but I’m only an Aggie and there are probably a ton of folks willing to pay to view that contest. So now the Longhorn Network can just make all the money in the world for the longhorns and everybody else can stick a straw in it and just “suck it”.
He’s just trying to start a flame war. Most Ags I know are pretty nice folk and he’s just doing that liberal projection thing they do to “win arguments” by tearing down Ags. I’ve been to Austin and besides all the homeless and crazies there are a lot of nice folk at both tailgate areas. I’ve got 4 kids and I’m pretty sure 3 are going to A&M and my 4th is going to Parsons in NYC. There are nice folks everywhere but from what I’ve experienced , the concentration seems to be higher in College Station. But that’s just me and other folks mileage may differ, etc....
I love being an Aggie, love our traditions and like little old College Station. Austin is a blast to visit but I’d rather not deal with the liberals and their great ideas shoved down my throat. Texas is big enough that we can both flourish. I like the old Shiner brewery, ice cream from Brenham and just the small town feel of A&M. If they want to build themselves up by tearing Ags down, just let them. It says a lot more about them than us with the put downs and the condescending attitude. I think most of us Ags are friendly folk and so are most of the Longhorn fans. If he runs into all the hateful and mean Ags while tailgating then maybe he’s the problem. Hahahaha.
We’ve never been beat, we just run out of time. Gig’em.
I only went to one A&M vs tu game in Austin, and I had a guy grope my private parts while I was walking on 6th street.
I was definitely not offered hospitality at tu.
A mighty whoop to all of that, Dick Vomer.
I’ve lived all over and Aggieland feels the most like home.
“From the outside looking in you can’t understand it, and from the inside looking out you can’t explain it”
Ken Starr was a tool for UT...and acted stupidly. Last I heard he is conservative.
Anyway, it's over and Aggies are happily going to SEC after all tricks were used to keep them in the Big 12 Minus.
Besides, the team that has to appeal to the occult doesn't win the final chapter.
I guess you're right. Funding disparities won't allow A&M to buy the kind of coaching staff UT has.
I didn’t know football was conservative or liberal. Ken Starr was a tool for UT.
As far as I know football isn’t conservative or liberal. Perhaps you should document your tool for UT BS.
My point was that the Houston Barnacle is SE Texas rendition of NYT & WaCompost in ALL of its reporting. It’s not even suitable for the birdcage.
“Funding disparities won’t allow A&M to buy the kind of coaching staff UT has.”
The entirety of the coaching staff’s salaries are not paid from the school’s general fund, but from the school’s athletic fund. It just so happens that the Texas’ program raises more money than any other program in the nation.
As for coaches, I would agree that Mack Brown is overpaid at $5,000,000 a year, but at least he gets results and has won a BCS Championship as well as Big 12 Championships and has been in BCS games.
On the other hand, the A&M’s Mike Sherman is also overpaid at $2,200,000 per year and has a losing record while never sniffing a Big 12 Championship and never even dreaming of a BCS game, much less a championship.
The bottom line is that The Texas Longhorns have a winning program and if that trend falters, Texas will find a new coach and will be able to pay any price for that coach and will always be a winning program.
“Once the alumni that welcome a challenge pressure(or fire) Dodds the series will resume.”
Again, what the Aggies do not understand in the that the Texas v. A&M series means more to the Aggies than it does Texas. The Aggies need Texas, Texas does not need A&M.
As for Thanksgiving, that date belongs to Texas and Mr. Dodds can call any school in the country and propose that the play Texas on Thanksgiving and every school will agree to such a series.
As of right now, that phone call will go to Norte Dame and the Longhorns v. the Irish will become the new tradition.
As for A&M. the Aggies will likely be playing Texas State or S.E. Little Rock School for Crippled Women on Thanksgiving weekend.
C’mon trumandogz. If you are afraid of the playing A&M, just admit it. You don’t have to try to overwhelm me with your arrogance. We already saw what happened to your invitation for Notre Dame to join the tu 10-1+1-1+1. You were even rejected by BYU.
I do believe it was widely reported!
UT has never been on probation. They get away with so much....
I doubt anyone in Austin is afraid of the Aggies and wish a&m much luck in the SEC.
As for the Longhorns, we will still be in the Hill Country where we can dine at great restaurants, see lots of live music, watch our property values continue to rise, check out the topless sorority girls at Barton Springs and win more National Championships.
And back in College Station the Aggies can dream of escape to a real city, fantasize about winning seasons and keep the farm animals always sleeping with one eye open. Again, good luck in the SEC and I hope the Kyle field visitor scoreboard can handle to 100 points that a LSU and Alabama will paste on the Aggies.
“UT has never been on probation. They get away with so much....”
Please provide an example of an NCAA infraction which should have lead to Texas being placed on probation.
I thought A&M was a conservative school, but it seems that all we hear from the Aggies is that they want Texas to share revenue with A&M.
Sounds a whole lot like the Occupy Wall Street protesters who want the wealthy to share their wealth.
Perhaps, the Aggies can hold an Occupy UT Campus protest and camp out on campus until Texas, the Top 1% will share with the Poor Aggies.
