The revenue shared has to do with the contract for tv rights for the conference. So it was split evenly among the members equally. The revenue Texas makes on it’s stadium, beverages and other Texas gear they keep. the Longhorn network was slated to have clauses that other Big 12 teams couldn’t be on network/cable tv competing with games on the Longhorn network. ESPN was going to essentially freeze out any other team from being on cable if it competed with t.u.
Just didn’t make sense for Aggies and I hope the Longhorn network works out. I just don’t see a big market for games like the UT v. Sam Houston State basketball game, but I’m only an Aggie and there are probably a ton of folks willing to pay to view that contest. So now the Longhorn Network can just make all the money in the world for the longhorns and everybody else can stick a straw in it and just “suck it”.
I thought A&M was a conservative school, but it seems that all we hear from the Aggies is that they want Texas to share revenue with A&M.
Sounds a whole lot like the Occupy Wall Street protesters who want the wealthy to share their wealth.
Perhaps, the Aggies can hold an Occupy UT Campus protest and camp out on campus until Texas, the Top 1% will share with the Poor Aggies.
