BRIDGEPORT — Family members tried to hide him, but eventually a man Douglas County law officers say is an illegal immigrant and repeat offender was located Friday and arrested.
Miguel Torres Gomez, 46, of Bridgeport, sought for weeks on an immigration warrant, was found hiding in a bedroom of a family member’s home around 7:20 p.m. He was arrested without incident by members of the county’s Special Response Team and transported to the Okanogan County Corrections Center.
Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said Torres Gomez had been sought two weeks ago on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) warrant, but couldn’t be located. Deputies were tipped off recently that Torres Gomez could be at his family’s home in Bridgeport.
Initially, family members told deputies Torres Gomez was not at the house, said Gjesdal. But deputies persisted and found him hiding in the bedroom.
The sheriff said Torres Gomez had been listed as a “deported aggravated felon” and has a lengthy list of violations, including arrests for narcotics, resisting arrest and DUI.

Bring back the catapults and aim for just over the fence at the border.
Can we deport the whole family? That way, they can hide him in the homeland...

He's not "of Bridgeport". He's an illegal alien who happens to have been last hiding in that town.
It wouldn't take much to check his court records and find out his real home town name in Mexico. And list him as being from there, which is the truth.

Because amnesty for illegals is part of Perry's flip flopping platform. Just like McCain, he generates hits on this issue and quite properly so.
Perry, now that he is running for national office has stated he doesn't want amnesty for illegals, he just wants them to be able to come and go freely and have a pathway to citizenship. Those of us who want immigrants to be vetted before being allowed in are “heartless” according to Perry.
This thread is about why people oppose letting just anyone into the US.
It is a proper part of the debate, as much as Perryistas may whine about it. Each incident regarding illegals lies at the feet of the open borders crowd.

ICE has the authority to arrest all the illegals there, but the executive branch of government stops them from exercising that authority to enforce federal laws.
