Perry’s govt reform speech "This is not red meat. This is raw meat, still steaming from the cow"
Red State ^ | November 15, 2011 | Moe Lane

So, Governor Rick Perry made a speech today where he proposed the following:

* Ending the practice of giving lifetime appointments to federal judges (current judges would not be affected);

* Cutting Congressional pay in half;

* Cutting Congressional pay in half again if they don’t balance the budget by 2020;

* Cutting Congressional office budgets in half;

* Cutting the Congressional calendar by half;

* Criminalizing insider trading by Congressmen (no, actually, it’s not currently illegal for them to do that);

* Reducing spending to 18% of GDP;

* Privatizing Fannie & Freddie;

* Ending the funding of Planned Parenthood;

* Eliminating the Commerce, Education, and Energy Departments;

* Getting the EPA under control;

* Getting the TSA under control;

* Audit the government, including the Department of Defense;

* Freeze incoming federal regulations, and audit all of them for the last five years;

* Federal salary freeze for all non-military and non-law enforcement officials until the budget is balanced;

* And cutting the Presidential salary in half until the budget is balanced

This is not red meat. This is raw meat, still steaming from the cow.....

As I’ve already stated, and as can be witnessed by reading various threads on FR, our body politic is extremely fractured. Even here on FR, a very conservative site, there is NO consensus at this time on who the best GOP candidate is. That, despite the fact the primary elections begin in approximately 7 weeks. I as yet see NO candidate that motivates me to vote for them today, including Perry. The best I can say right now is who I WILL NOT vote for.

Yes, I know what the governorship of Texas is like. Perry has moved a whole lot differently than the other governors. IF you do research into what he has done you'd see what I am talking about.

Perry has made the proper environment for businesses to move here and thrive. Yes, it has been Perry that has created the envirnoment for businesses to move here. When Perry became governor he had a good economy to work with and he was smart enough to have kept what was in place to continue, but he also changed what was hurting businesses. Now when Obama came into the WH...everything changed throughout the country and Perry fought to make sure Texas did not go through what most of the country has gone through. It was Perry and his team that has done that.

You are like I was about Perry...but when The Lord moved me to support Perry...I was smart enough to research him to just see why HE did that.

You do understand that in order to start doing something you first must have a plan. He is laying out his vision of reform. He knows that he can’t make the changes all by himself. Think of it as planting the seed in the voters mind.

That’s because they can’t freeze it, personalize it, destroy it as there is no leader - it is amorphous. It only shows up to vote RINOS and RATS out of office. It can’t be polled or canvassed: thus it cannot be predicted.

And if it can’t be predicted, RATS have no idea how many fraudulent votes they need to manufacture to force their canvassing and polling to match up with actual election results, especially with new kinks like conservative precinct leaders not providing the AP with vote tabulations on AP’s time schedule. Viva Wisconsin!

VoterID ain’t gonna help the RATS cause, either.

So of course ACORN re-metastasizers and OWS and Debbie what’s up with my hair S-W hate the TEA party. It’s like Darryl Hannah in Kill Bill II, when Uma pokes her last eye out, I CAN’T SEE YOU!! The RATS know they’ll be even deader than a year ago, AND THEY CAN’T SEE WHODUNIT.

What are your objections, or do you only throw “steaming” and irrational comments?

One thing you can say about Perry: he begins with the end in mind.

The record on controlling the border is already stronger than anyone else’s, with 10 years of action and experience.

This is absolutely true. If there’s a “record,” you should be able to give several examples right off the top of your head and with links and sources to prove it — instead, you’ve just written an accusation that has nothing to back it up.

Perry hasn’t gone out of his way to offend various demographics like several of the others have. Get off of FR and the few blogs and see that he’s able to relate a broader base of people. He has been around the block a few times in the election process. His jobs and energy plan is realistic and doable immediately for the most part. Getting people back to work and putting some stability in regards to regulations will fire up the economy. That is going to be the top issue for most voters.

You: The libtards in D.C. have succeeded in fracturing We The People into various single-issue groups. Why, if all it takes is for We The People to communicate to D.C. what our expectations are, have We The People been summarily dismissed by D.C.?

I understand you and I am on the same side of the fight you are on right along side of you.

We have been dismissed because they have no fear of We The People.

We have been dismissed because the power no longer resides with the people.

We have been dismissed because our Country is no longer Of, By and For the People.

But we must take a stand and fight for our Freedom and our Liberty.

We need a Fire in our Belly again to take our Country Back!

We need a Leader who believes in this and can lead the way.

It may take baby steps to get it done but steps we must take and we have to start where we stand.

I’m Fed Up. Perry is Fed Up too and is trying to do something about it.

He said that he was not going to “nibble around the edges” but instead was going to go at it with a sledgehammer.

I stand with Perry and believe he can take the reigns that will lead us back to our Freedom, Liberty and being the Great America we once were.

He has been around the block a few times in the election process.

Well, he's not demonstrated this during the debates.

No, he hasn’t but he will improve. The main debate (hopefully) is between him and Zero after Perry has the nation committed to his vision, and Obama can only mumble as he watches his wicked state get washed out to sea.

All his proposals sound great.

Here’s the problem with Perry...

About one of the 97-odd things on his list would actually get done. And he’s guaranteed to ram an illegal-alien amnesty down our throats under the guise of calling is something else, but just omitting the word “amnesty”. And he’d focus plenty energy on other things we wouldn’t like very much because the people who have already bought and paid for his presidency will insist on it.

He did excellent in the last debate. Did you see it?

His plan of starting Foreign Aid at zero at the beginning of each year and letting Foreign Countries make their case for why they need the aid before we commit to it was great.

So great, that most the other candidates thought it was a good idea too.

He’s not slick like Willie, he’s not polished like Romney, he’s not omnipresent like Obama, he’s not the intellectual brain like Newt (talking and walking is two different things) and he’s not cool like Cain.

They may talk the talk but do they walk the walk?

Perry or Cain at the top, Newt as VP to either.

Infinitely better than the Zero.

It is now a three way race.
